---- The next morning, Soldret stood at the edge of Martial Peak with Zephyr. From this height, the world looked breathtaking. Martial Peak stood far above the clouds, its summit piercing the sky like a solitary blade. Below them stretched an endless sea of white clouds, with distant mountain ranges and valleys barely visible through the gaps. Soldret couldn't help but wonder just how he had been climbing a mountain this high continuously. Zephyr raised his hand and whistled sharply. A massive manta ray-like primal beast descended gracefully from the clouds. Its body shimmered with iridescent blue and silver patterns. They climbed onto its broad back, and the creature lifted off smoothly, gliding through the sky with effortless grace. --- The flight was majestic. They soared high above the clouds. Soldret could see the full scale of the Eight Peaks territory — countless mountains, glittering rivers, and vast forests. Martial Peak grew smaller behind them, standing proud and aloof above the sea of clouds. Upon leaving the range of Martial Peak, Soldret felt the sensation of his Unique Pathway returning to him. A deep, familiar power surged through his body once more. He could use it again. He wanted to test his control over objects like he usually did, but they were up in the clouds. The only things here were the clouds themselves, the primal beast, and Zephyr — nothing suitable to experiment on. He then directed his attention to his concentrated Area of Concentration — ARC. He could see and feel the manta ray-like beast's heart beating steadily and the fluttering of its massive wings. He could also sense Zephyr's energy being condensed and refined. It somehow felt like his awareness had grown sharper than before. Curious, he turned his attention inward and entered his sea of consciousness. He had tried calling Roiner many times during his mountain training but received no reply. Now he finally understood why. Within the large expanse of space filled with dark rivers and star-like fragments lay Roiner. He was fast asleep, curled up peacefully and radiating a faint, contented glow. Soldret chuckled softly. "So that's why you went silent… You were just sleeping this whole time. I didn't even know that was possible to begin with." He didn't disturb him. --- After what felt like hours of majestic flight, the manta ray began descending toward a secluded mountain range. From afar, it looked like any other peak — misty and imposing. But as they drew closer, Soldret's eyes widened. A massive, ancient gate stood at the mountain's base. It had no doors, only a shimmering portal-like surface that one could not see through. Intricate arrays covered its surface, glowing faintly with Confucian Peak's signature scholarly runes. The entire gate radiated a powerful, protective aura. An old man in neat, scholarly robes stood guard before it. He appeared slightly younger than Radahn, with sharp eyes and a calm, dignified bearing. The moment he saw Zephyr, his face brightened with recognition. "If it isn't Zephyr. It's been a while," the old guardian called out warmly. "What brings the proud disciple of Martial Peak to our humble grove?" Zephyr landed gracefully with Soldret and bowed slightly in respect. "Elder Hu. I brought my junior brother to choose his contracted primal beast." Elder Hu's gaze shifted to Soldret. He studied him for a moment, then smiled knowingly. "Ah… so this is the rumored second disciple of Peak Master Radahn. The one who has been the subject of the rumors lately." "What rumors?"Soldret thought to himself, surprised. "I haven't even left the peak yet and this is my first time. How did rumors about me spread?" His expression remained calm on the outside. Soldret bowed politely. "Greetings, Elder." The old man chuckled and waved his hand. He stepped forward and wrote a few elegant characters in the air with his finger. The runes glowed brightly before merging into the massive gate. The portal surface rippled like water and o
