Moonlight quietly illuminated the room. The faint scent of medicine lingered in the air while soft rain tapped gently against the windows. Soldret slowly opened his eyes. For several moments, his vision remained blurry. Then— "Sol?" A familiar voice trembled softly nearby. The moment Seraphina noticed him awake, relief instantly flooded her face. "Sol!" She immediately moved beside the bed. Her usually composed appearance looked slightly disheveled, as though she had not rested at all. Before Soldret could react— she suddenly pulled him tightly into her embrace. "You scared me half to death." Soldret remained still for a moment. The warmth felt unfamiliar. Even though this was not the first time Seraphina had hugged him, something about it felt different now. Or perhaps— it simply felt distant after seven hundred years of bloodshed and loneliness. Soon, another figure approached the bedside. Caelon. Unlike Seraphina, his expression remained calmer, but the exhaustion hidden beneath his eyes was impossible to miss. "You finally woke up," he said quietly. Soldret slowly sat up. The moment he moved, Seraphina immediately frowned. "Lie back down." "I'm fine." "No, you are not," she replied firmly. "The physician said your body was under severe strain." Her hands lightly trembled as she adjusted the blanket around him. "You're resting." Soldret stared at her quietly. In his memories— or dreams— he could still remember her cold body beneath the ruins of Vareth. That image alone made his chest tighten painfully. Caelon pulled a chair closer before sitting beside the bed. "The guards already handled the aftermath," he said calmly. "You don't need to think about any of it right now." Neither of them asked about the shack. Not about the corpses. Not about the blood. Not about how their son had somehow killed grown men. They were deliberately avoiding it. Soldret immediately noticed. "…You aren't going to ask?" he said quietly. Seraphina's expression stiffened slightly. Caelon remained silent briefly before answering. "You're safe." "That's what matters." Seraphina gently held Soldret's hand. "We can talk about everything else later." Something inside Soldret shook slightly. But eventually, he slowly shook his head. "No." His voice became quieter. "You need to hear this now." The atmosphere inside the room gradually changed. Caelon's expression became more serious while Seraphina sat silently beside the bed. Soldret lowered his gaze briefly before speaking. "…A few days ago, I awakened a unique pathway." The room instantly became silent. Even Caelon's eyes narrowed slightly. Unique pathways were extraordinarily rare. Most cultivators inherited established pathways or followed known systems. Creating or awakening a completely unique pathway was something very few could accomplish. Soldret slowly clenched his fist. A faint invisible ripple spread quietly through the room. The lantern flame flickered violently. Several objects atop the nearby table trembled slightly. Seraphina's eyes widened. "This…" Soldret looked quietly at his own hand. "I call it the Will Pathway." Caelon's expression finally changed slightly. Soldret continued calmly. "It doesn't rely purely on primal essence or physique." "It manifests through will itself." "An invisible force born from the manifestation of my will." The room fell silent again. "But that isn't the important part," Soldret said quietly. His expression gradually darkened. "For the past few days… I've been feeling something." "A foreboding feeling." "At first, I thought it was because of Lysa." His eyes lowered slightly. "I thought the calamity I sensed was her kidnapping." He slowly looked toward the moonlight outside the window. "But after waking up…" "The feeling is still there." Caelon's brows slowly furrowed. Soldret's voice became quieter. "…Something catastrophic is going to happen in Vareth." Soldret tightened his fists slightly. "We need to leave before the night of New Year's Eve." The room ins
