Lucia sat up and dazed her eyes around, searching for Ishkiel. Her eyes finally landed on the other bed. He was still lying down on his bed. ‘His ascension isn’t finished yet? He began before me,’ She thought. Shaking her head a little, she dismissed it. She then turned toward the door. Atop the small table next to the door, she saw two plates with steak and rice, two forks, and a pair of wooden mugs. After a moment’s passing, she slowly stood up and walked toward the table. When she got there she stopped and picked up one of the mugs. She quickly brought it up to her lips and slowly lifted it up. Gulp Gulp Gulp The entire thing had been downed. She lowered the mug and put it back on the table before sighing. Her breathing was getting steadier. She looked back at Ishkiel and saw that he was also breathing heavily. ‘Strains of the ascension, I assume.’ ‘Anyway, let’s see what my ascension gave me exactly,’ she thought, focusing her mind on her Oracle to summon it in front of her. Name: Lucia Soul Name: Everlight Rank: Blessed Grace: 0/1000 Blessing: [The Crown of Light] Blessing Rank: Celestial Abilities: [Touch of Radiance] Traits: [Crowned], [Paleblood], [Eyes of Light] She quickly glanced over everything. Then, she focused her eyes on [Touch of Radiance] as the text suddenly expanded. Ability: [Touch of Radiance] Description: [Purify all with thy radiant touch.] ‘Not sure what that means... I’ll see...’ she thought. Dropping her eyes down to her new traits, she concentrated on [Paleblood]. Trait: [Paleblood] Description: [Thy soul is of Heaven, thus thy blood is.] Lastly, she expanded [Eyes of Light]. Trait: [Eyes of Light] Description: [Pierce through darkness and deception with the radiance of thy soul.] ‘Hmm, what do these all mean?’ she pondered, trying to make something out of their descriptions. A few moments later, she suddenly heard a bed creaking behind her. It was Ishkiel. She quickly turned around and saw him slowly getting out of bed, her Oracle naturally dissipating back into her mind. “You’re awake! Ah! One moment!” “Huh?” Ishkiel said as he turned toward her, brow furrowing. She grabbed the other mug and walked up to him. “Here! You must be exhausted from your ascension,” she said with an arm extended, a mug in her grasp. Ishkiel stared at her and the mug before gently clasping it with his hands. “Thank you.” A warm smile made its way onto her face. “Mhm! No problem!” Looking down, he stared into the mug for a moment before bringing it up to his lips and gulping down a few sips. He then lowered the mug and put it atop the nightstand beside his bed. “Better now?” she asked while staring at him. Ishkiel raised his head and saw the same warm smile on her face still. “Yes, a little.” Her smile faded slightly. Pausing for a moment, she asked with a solemn expression, “Want to talk about your ascension?” Lingering for a moment, he shook his head. “Not really. At least not yet.” She gently nodded. “All right, that’s okay.” Turning her head toward the plates on the table, she pointed at them before looking back at Ishkiel. ”Hungry?” He looked at the table and the two plates before a warm smile made its way onto his face. “Very.” She giggled softly. “Me too, I’m staaaarving!” she said, turning around as she walked over to the table and grabbed the plates. A moment later, she was next to Ishkiel one more, both plates in her hands. She extended one of her arms out, to give him a plate. “Here you go!” He then grabbed it and put it down on his lap. She sat down on the bed beside his, and they both grabbed the fork off their plates. Lucia slammed the fork down on the steak and sawed a piece of it off. She then stabbed the sawed-off piece with her fork and brought it to her mouth before biting into it. Her eyes sparkled, it was unimaginably great compared to the food at the orphanage. ‘This is amazing!’ She quickly sawed-off another piece and stuffed it into her mouth. It was still just as good… The sensation of biting into
