The chirping of birds accompanied the rising sun; the little girl stood by the window, overlooking the street in front of the house. The rising sun dyed the sky a blood-red color, casting a shadow over the buildings in front, contrasting the brightening sky with the shadowed buildings. “The sun…it creates such wondrous scenery; it’s truly a wonderful creation.” While the little girl is lost in thought, farmers and early risers begin to leave their homes and prepare their tools for work. She watches the people as they talk and mingle, laughing, smiling, and shouting—a very lively scene. “Even humans are like the critters of the forest, waking up with the first rays of the sun, making their presence known with their voices and sounds.” The little girl watches a little longer; some people down on the street see her and look at her for a bit with confusion in their eyes, but they continue on their way. The little girl backs away from the window; she walks to the door and leaves the room. “It’s still quiet… I guess Loraine and Inaya are still asleep. Why is it that some people wake up so early while others don’t?” She walks past their rooms and heads down the stairs; she is met with a cozy-looking living room with 2 couches, a fireplace, and a very fluffy pelt rug. She walks through, looking around and taking in the room. “It feels…warm; it’s comfortable. I really like this room.” She walks to the dining table and into the kitchen. She looks around it and finds it fascinating; the different fruits, vegetables, and nuts were all new to her, and the big stone oven. Eventually, she returns to the living room, where she sits on the pelt rug in front of the fireplace, watching the faint embers between the charcoal. She sits there, mesmerized by the pulsing of the faint embers as they try to burn the surrounding coals to no avail. As she sits there, distracted by the embers, Loraine walks into the living room and finds her there, staring into the fireplace with a blank expression. She sits next to her, wrapping an arm around her. The little girl doesn’t notice and keeps staring into the fireplace. Loraine stays with her for a little longer to comfort her. “Would you like to eat breakfast?” Loraine starts talking first The little girl looks at her and tilts her head in a questioning manner. “Breakfast?” “Yes, some eggs, bread, and sausage. Would you like some?” Loraine asks her again, smiling warmly. The little girl nods her head with a hint of excitement. “Human food? That sounds good.” Loraine gets up while smiling at her brightly. “Alright then, I’ll get to making them right away.” She makes her way to the kitchen; the little girl follows behind her. In the kitchen, Lorain grabs three eggs from a basket, some sausages, and a couple of small loaves of bread. She lights the stone oven and places a frying pan on the metal grates over the fire. She places some cooking lard on the pan; the sound of it sizzling fills the kitchen. After it heats up enough, Lorine places 3 sausages into the pan; their smell spreads throughout the house. The sound of footsteps can be heard coming from the stairs. “Mom! Are you making breakfast already?” Inaya walks into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes and yawning. “Yes, dear, your friend here woke up early and looked a bit hungry. Why don’t you take her to your room to get changed while I make breakfast?” “Okay, Mommy!" Inaya turns to the little girl and takes her hand. “Come on! Let’s go get changed!” The little girl is dragged away by Inaya, unsure of what’s going on. Inaya takes the little girl to her room, she opens her closet excitedly. “I’m gonna dress you up like a doll!” The little girl stares at her as she begins taking out simple dresses and skirts of varying colors. She eventually settles on 3 dresses: a white and ruby Irish wench dress, a tan cotte, and a rose dirndl. “Try these on quickly!” The little girl stares at the dresses, confused. “How… Do I try them on?” She asks as she lifts one up, scannin
