The majestic garden darkened as grey clouds overwrote the expansive blues. The inhabitants swayed solemnly, a far cry from their usual exuberance. The ground beneath the wilting flower shook, her one twisted root squirming like a tentacle. Yuliana yawned as she woke up. She looked above in her nightwear as her eyes landed on the clock. “9:40 AM... I overslept,” she said as she sunk back into the bed as her frazzled hair envelope the whole pillow. She turned to her side with a melancholic expression on her face. She twirled her hair in thought, Today’s the first day without Evan... I was more reliant on him emotionally than I thought huh? Vindici was right, I am very attached, she thought as she snickered inwardly. She got up with a leap and did a big stretch, shooting her hands up behind her back. “No use crying over spilled milk! What’s done has been done. I have to look forward.” Yuliana stretched her upper body left and right before letting out a big breath as she relaxed herself. She closed her eyes and felt her heart beat with steady thumps. I’ll accept the invite to join the Night Maple Serenade today. I’ll be meeting new people who are Artisans and there’s a high chance that they won’t be as nice as Evan or Citen. Not everyone will see me favourably. Although I trust Blaine, that is just when it comes to her. In case of others, wariness is not something I can compromise. I must be well prepared, both emotionally and physically. She looked beside her bed and saw her gothic battle axe shining with a metallic lustre. She let out her hand as the Blaze Axe shot towards her and she caught it with the rubber sling at the end. It was a B-Grade Stage 1 Cora especially modified for her use. Evander had tweaked it and made it so that it meshed well with her Series. Evander was a bit worried whether she’d be okay with a flame type weapon as she didn’t really have a good history with fire but since Yuliana didn’t have any deep-seated trauma, she didn’t mind it. Rather, she found the axe to be very suited for her capabilities. She gave the axe a little spin and some swings as a warmup before washing up and dressing herself in the modified battle-suit which was, just a suit. She looked at herself in the mirror by the wardrobe. She turned and checked herself all over. A black three-piece suit and a red tie that matched with her apple red eyes. It looks pretty good while being one heck of an armour. If I hadn’t actually tested it out, I would’ve never thought of it as a piece of armour. She nodded in approval. She walked downstairs and saw Vindici standing by the entrance to the dining room. “Good morning Yuli,” he gave her a light bow. “Good morning Vin,” she bowed back with a smile. “So what’s for breakfast today? I was actually quite surprised last night. Since you were a doll, I assumed you couldn’t eat but you actually can. And not only that, you can cook too! And pretty well at that.” Vindici shook his head. “I was told of the recipes by my creator. All I did was act out according to his instructions. Nothing more.” Yuliana pouted. She pointed a finger at him and said, “You silly, just because someone is told something doesn’t mean they can do it. For that, you need practice and talent. The fact that you can cook a food good enough for us to eat and find tasty even if all you did was follow instructions is an amazing thing. You should be proud of it! Take credit!” she approached Vindici and flicked him in the forehead. “Ouch!” she said as she retracted her hand back. Her face contorted in pain as she wagged her hand. “Is your head made of metal or something? Why is to so hard!?” Vindici tapped his forehead as he replied, “No, it is made of wood.” Yuliana looked up at him before sighing with a chuckle. “All I’m saying is that it is okay to be a little boastful sometimes. You can be proud you know? No needed to be so humble all the time. But don’t become too proud now. Everything should be done in moderation.” Vindici nodded in unde
