Yuliana and Blaine sat down in a cafe. They had a plate of cake and a cup of tea each in front of them. Yuliana sipped her coffee and commented, “You were right. This is quite good. The aroma is nice and the taste is warm and soothing. It’s even better with sugar.” Blaine took a sip from her cup and said, “You’re welcome. So you’re the type to drink with a lot of sugar huh? I personally prefer mine without too much. One cube is more than enough.” Yuliana smiled and said, “I have a bit of a sweet tooth. I can’t handle too much bitterness. I need at least three to balance it.” “I see. Good to know your preferences. Maybe we can get ice-cream sometimes.” “Hmm, I haven’t had any ice-creams yet. It’s winter so they are not in fashion. But still, I’ll take you up on your offer.” “I’ll be expecting you to,” Blaine said as she used her fork and took a bite of the strawberry vanilla cake. Yuliana did the same. They chatted as they ate. Mostly about their common interests in sweets and the book ‘Days to Remember’. “Isn’t Fischel Lynard such an amazing writer? They way she wove the tale Nora and Jon really encapsulated me. As an aspiring writer myself, I can’t help but look up to her.” Yuliana nodded. She said, “Although I am not an avid book reader, I found it to be really interesting too. I think Nora is really intruiging. But don’t spoil me now, I’ve yet to finish it completely.” Blaine did a zipping motion across her mouth. She replied, “Don’t you worry! I’ll be careful to not spoil you anything. It goes against my policy! I hate spoilers!” Yuliana chuckled. She looked at Blaine and while twirling her fork, she wondered, “Are you perhaps not from here?” Blaine’s eyes widened a bit at the unexpected question. She smiled and replied, “Oh, you can tell? Well, it’s not like I can hide it and everyone here is pretty accepting. So yeah, I’m a foreigner.” Yuliana nodded. She thought, Yup, figured as much. The reason Yuliana thought so boiled down to two main points. Since she was observing people with Dream Vision a lot yesterday and today, she was able to grasp a lot of the key points the people here had in common. Firstly, their appearance. Everybody in Senim had a medium or olive skin tone with brown or green eyes. Blaine on the other hand had a very fair colour to her skin with sapphire blue eyes. She noticed it quickly because she herself stood out with her apple red eyes. Second was her accent. Not because she sounded off, but rather the opposite. Her Senimese was really good. Too good. Everybody in Dokan had a slight accent to them that distinguished them from the other Senimese citizens. The people here usually stressed their r’s more. She first noticed the difference when she heard Evander and Citen speak compared to the other townsfolk. So when Blaine spoke much more clearly, she was able to catch on to it fast. But even then, I did not expect her to be a foreigner. I just thought she isn’t from the Dokan region. Her being from outside of Senim is a surprise though. “Then, where are you originally from?” Blaine said with a smile as she let out her hands, “That’s the fun part, I have no idea!” Yuliana’s brows furrowed in confusion. She wanted to ask what she meant when a realisation dawned on her. Could she be like me? Somewhat hesitantly, Yuliana asked, “You don’t know where you’re from? Do you, umm, suffer from memory loss?” Blaine laughed. She replied, “No, it’s nothing like that. “You see, My parents were a part of a wandering musical troupe which went around the continent, going from places to places. Naturally, as their child, I too had the opportunity to visit many places and go around not just within the confines of my birthplace, but also the neighbouring countries. It was a pretty famous group so we didn’t have much trouble with border patrol. At our heyday, we even played for kings. It happened long before I was born though, so I didn’t get to see it.” Yuliana’s jaw almost fell. She thought in astonishment, W-what is suc
