The majestic garden blossomed with an unfathomable vigour. The birds sang melodiously and the flowers danced with the chiming wind. The wilting flower trembled as she despised. Yet, a soft cackled leaked out of her. After all, nothing lasts forever. “That was quite the feast Blaine, I must thank you for your hospitality,” Yuliana said as she stood on the porch outside the entrance of Blaine’s outside. Night had settled onto the streets of Dokan. Dim lights of the tall lampposts lit up the street amidst the light fog of winter. “Don’t mention it. I’m just glad I was able to treat my friend to a good dinner before we set off,” Blaine said with a soft voice as she cradled the sleeping Derry in her arms. “Looks like he fell asleep right after eating,” Yuliana said with a giggle. “He does that sometimes. Usually though, he sleeps a bit later. I guess playing with you was so fun it tired him out.” Yuliana giggled. “Who knows~” she said with a chime. She added with a serious voice, “Alright then, I’ll see you after two days.” Blaine nodded. “Okay, I’ll prepare everything pronto.” Yuliana smiled. “Till then,” she added as she waved at her childishly, “see ya!” Blaine laughed. Derry shuffled in her arms as she quickly put a hand over her mouth. She leaned forward and whispered, “See ya!” The two of them shared a silent giggle as Yuliana turned around and began walking away. With slow steps forward, her back soon disappeared into the fog. Yuliana heard the clink of the door closing behind her from the distance. She sighed and whispered to herself, “Family... I wonder if I can have one as well,” She pulled on the black bag on her shoulder and clenched it tightly. No. I must first get too the root of the mysteries around me. I’ll think of stuff like that later. But still... “A girl can dream you know?” she said as she looked up into the star speckled night sky. Countless glitters of white spread across the bed of deep blue. Like observers from high above, they looked down at the world below from their flaming spires. The Stars were always watching. Suddenly, a jolting pain struck Yuliana in the head. “Ugh!!” she looked down and saw a fluffy tarantula looking up at her. A weak smile spread across her face. “Wooly...” she muttered with adoration. She squatted down and said with a smile, “Would you like to see the stars as well?” Wooly raised two of her legs as if affirming. Yuliana giggled and gently cupped Wooly around her hands. She raised her hands and placed the spider atop her head. A number of people walked through the foggy streets of Dokan, passing by Yuliana as they went about their own lives. No one looked at her. No one paid her any heed. In the midst of all these people, yet among none of them, she looked up and stared into the night sky. She stretched her arms upward and said in a solemn voice, “Evan... “I wonder... when you look up, do you see the same as me?” The starry night sky spread out against the bed of darkness. Beneath, a whirling fog encompassed the world. “Haa...” a masculine voice sighed as he let out a breath full of smoke, dissipating into the dark night. Sitting on the ledge of the spire of the Resting Death’s headquarters, Varco looked up at the night sky as he put the cigarette to his lips and blew out a light puff. Tomorrow’s the day... He thought with his eyes adrift. He took another puff of smoke and released it with a soft sigh. “Having second thoughts, dear boss?” a feminine voice said with a chuckle. A smile spread across Varco’s face. He removed the cigarette from his lips and looked back, tipping his hat towards the beautiful silver haired woman. “So you’re here, Silvia.” “Yup, I’m here,” the leader of Resting Death replied with a grin. With firm steps forward, she stood beside Varco and looked out at the vast, mist-laden night of Ekad. For a moment, they just looked out at the night world. The shining stars sparkled above their heads and the dense fog curled into swirls beneath their feet. They covere
