The majestic garden trembled as streaks of silver lightning flashed across the grey clouds. The birds shivered and the flowers drooped. The wilting flower cackled as the ground underneath her squirmed. With a loud thud, as the twin doors automatically closed behind Yuliana. She jumped as she turned around and pulled the door by the handle, only to see that it wouldn’t budge whatsoever. A small chuckle rang out. “There’s no need to be afraid. I am not going to harm you,” a soft, soothing voice uttered. Yuliana was startled before turning around and apologising with a bow, “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to show such disgraceful behaviour.” “It’s alright. You have the right to be wary. No need to apologise. You can look up now.” Yuliana did as she said and looked up at the woman in front of her for the first time. She wore a faceless golden mask and a long white cloak with intricate golden embroideries over it. Underneath, she wore a full black clothing with similar embroideries that hid all of her skin, leaving only her long and rich black hair that flowed out of her hood. She settled her pen on her desk and arranged all the books that were scattered about to one side. She let out her black gloved hand and urged Yuliana, “Come on, take a seat.” Yuliana let out a breath and walked forward. She looked around before sitting down opposite to her. For someone at the forefront of such a large organisation, her office is surprisingly small, Yuliana thought. With enclosed lanterns at the back wall and rows of bookshelves to the left and the right, her room felt rather cozy. The leader interlinked her fingers and rested her chin atop them. “I’ve been expecting you, Child of the Yarn.” Yuliana’s heartbeat sped up. She definitely knows something! Pushing the String of Wrath, she calmed down her agitated self and asked, “Why did you tell Ms. Starfish to watch over me? What is it that you know about me?” The leader chuckled as she leaned back into her chair. She picked up the pen from her desk before spinning it around and pointing it towards Yuliana. “You, my dear, have fate congested around you to an abnormal degree. I don’t know much, but from my Exalted Library, I am able to infer some things. “Firstly, it might sound a bit rude, but your current state is an anomaly. You are not supposed to be, and yet here you are. Someone messed with your fate and set it off course. I can tell because little Ms. Starfish was not supposed to have made any new friends at this point in time. “Secondly, the doctor from Dokan taking you in is rather odd from my perspective. From what I know, he’s an Artisan from outside who is very secretive of his motives and doesn’t interact with anyone to any great degree. Yet, for him to take you in... that is quite peculiar to say the least. Another event which I cannot see to fruition. “And thirdly,” she shifted her pen and pointed it towards Yuliana’s heart “you contain within yourself a foreign power. Those who are sensitive to fate like me can tell. It’s a power that once belonged to something else, something much, much grander, and yet, is now somehow in your possession. It’s an immensely horrible thing with an erratic fate. There aren’t many things which fall under that description.” She paused and said as her voice deepened, “A Supreme Oracle can be the only answer.” Yuliana fell silent. For a moment, not a word rang out as the two of them sat opposite to each other. Yuliana’s head tilted down. “I...” she tried saying but her voice trailed off before the words could come. She let out a shaky breath. “Thank you for the information,” she replied meekly. The leader nodded, her golden mask glistening. She said in a kind and soft voice, “I’m sorry little one, but it is the truth. Is there anything else you want to ask? You needn’t to be so worried. You’re now one of us. Even if the strings of fate wrap around you in a web of Anarchy, as long as you yourself are pure, we’ll help you to the best of our ability.” Yuliana l
