1.41 Show Me Your Cannon Chapter 41 [Blood Manipulation - Lvl 10 -> Novice Effect: Allows physical control of your blood through use of mana. User can form small constructs to attack and defend as needed. Level of control is determined by skill level and intelligence stat.] The System description for the skill had barely changed, the only real difference being an added line about being able to shape the blood for combat. I didn’t know the full extent of the added skill effect, but I didn’t wait very long to find out. I still had a glob of blood floating beside me as I closed the notification. Focusing on it, I willed the liquid to thin and harden, doing my best to form a somewhat aerodynamic shape. My mana stirred in my body in response, feeding the skill effect as I willed it, and the glob of red quickly took on an elongated bullet form. It remained floating for a second until I mentally targeted a spot of sand in the distance and sent it flying. The projectile moved faster than I expected, rocketing away instantly and slamming into the sandy ground to kick up a small plume. It wasn’t exactly as fast as a bullet fired from a gun, but it still held quite a lot of force behind it. I drew out more of my blood, reshaping the projectile, this time trying to make it shorter with a narrower tip. It worked, a little, the new ‘blood bullet’ almost looking like a rifle round. “How much control do I really have?” I fed more mana into the object, and while keeping it level with my eyes, started to make the object spin in place. It rotated, slowly at first, but picking up speed as I fed more mana to it. After a couple seconds, the little projectile was spinning at high speed, almost making a whirring noise in the air. I refocused on the same spot in the distance and sent it flying. This time, the projectile was much faster, the added kinetic force of the spin either transferring to forward momentum, or simply helping with cutting the air resistance of its travel. Maybe even a little bit of both. The spray of sand and debris from my second attempt was three times the size of the first. The sound of its impact even reached my ears with a small crack! “Yeah, that’ll be way bette—” My vision suddenly swam and I faltered a step. A weakness overcoming my mind and body. What the fuck? As it turned out, a combination of mana drain, and blood loss from extensive training and wounding myself meant I had overdone it a bit. Now, my body had finally started feeling the effects as my adrenaline was coming down. “Cuh?” Bean chirped from their hiding spot. I scratched beneath their chin with my fingers, “I’m good, just need to take a breather.” The small Akhekh eyed me suspiciously for a few seconds before finally melding back into the shadows once more. A flash of light stored my sword back into my inventory, and I stretched slowly. I hadn’t really thought about the negative consequences of over using my skills. Vasquez had shone what happens when you overspent your mana, but it wasn’t something I had run into until now. My skills didn’t use as much mana as his spells did, and I still had a huge intelligence stat compared to other melee classes. Still, this showed me that I would have to stay mindful of the possibility in the future. I checked my other skills as I rested, eyeing up which skills I could try pushing up to the Novice grade before the beast wave attacked. [Skills: Inspect [Max], Shade Stealth - Lvl 8 - Beginner, Marked to Die - Lvl 9 - Beginner, Aura Mastery - Lvl 7 - Beginner, Mana Shaping* - Lvl 5 – Beginner, Soul Strike - Lvl 1 - Beginner, Blood Manipulation - Lvl 10 - Novice] It was obvious but having a combat focused class meant training most of my skills in, well, combat. My stealth skill was tough as I guessed it would require me hiding from multiple enemies or against a strongly perceptive one. And I doubted that the System would count me hiding about the Tikkari village like a weird ass creeper as training. [Marked to Die] and [Sou
