BANG! The reinforced blast doors of Sector 4’s tactical command room didn't just slide open—they were blown off their tracks by a localized surge of cosmic energy. Before the smoke could even clear, a flash of silver light blurred across the dark room. WHOOSH! Varun didn't even have time to turn around before a heavy, metal-plated gauntlet slammed into the back of his neck. "You piece of shit," Verma growled, his voice vibrating with a terrifying, unhinged rage. Without a shred of hesitation, Verma wrapped his fingers tightly into Varun's hair. With a sickening crunch of shifting armor, he violently hoisted Varun completely off the ground, lifting him by his hair until the traitor's boots were dangling inches above the metallic floor. The sheer physical power radiating from Verma’s body forced the ambient temperature in the command room to plummet. "Youuuuu..." Verma hissed, his face inches from Varun's, his eyes burning like twin stars. "Do you even comprehend what you just did?! Do you know how many lives you just threw into the meat grinder?!" Varun’s head was pulled back at a painful angle, his scalp bleeding from the absolute force of the grip. Yet, as he stared into the face of Earth's deadliest swordsman, his bloodshot eyes only went wider. "Hahaha... haaa..." A manic, wheezing laugh escaped Varun's throat, blood staining his teeth. "Hahaha! It's beautiful, isn't it, Uncle?" Varun choked out, his smile stretching so wide it looked demonic. "Look at the main screen! Look at them come!" The heavy footsteps of the rest of the circle echoed into the command room. Rakesh Kumar stepped through the shattered doorway, his eyes wide as he stared at his own son dangling from Verma's grip. The color completely drained from Rakesh's face, his voice cracking with absolute devastation. "Why..." Rakesh whispered, his hands shaking as he took a step forward. "Why did you do this, son?" Varun’s manic laughter cut off instantly. The demonic smile vanished from his face, replaced by a sudden, raw hatred that turned his features completely cold. He ignored Verma's crushing grip, keeping his burning eyes locked entirely on his father. "Why?" Varun spat out, blood dripping down his forehead. "You have the audacity to ask me why, Father?" He let out a sharp, bitter gasp, his chest heaving under his chest plate. "You don't even know what I have been through," Varun whispered, his voice suddenly dropping to a hollow, ragged tone. "You... all of you... will never understand my pain." He looked away from his father, staring blankly into the flickering red lights of the console, his mind completely slipping away from the present room. "You were never there..." The Flashback Lakhs of years ago. The Dawn of the Modern Era. The ancient cosmic war had finally ended, and the shattered surface of the world was slowly regaining its stability. The embers of the old world were buried deep beneath the foundations of the new underground citadels. Born near the catastrophic end of that ancient war, Varun and Arun grew up in a world built on secrets. To the rest of the world, growing up as the sons of the high council was a supreme privilege. They were treated with equal love, warmth, and care by Rakesh and the inner circle. But a hidden necessity forced a brutal wedge between the siblings. Arun was allowed to remain safe, pampered, and blissfully oblivious. Varun, however, was chosen for the dark labs. He was separated from his brother and treated like a weapon that needed to be forged through endless pain. Beep... Beep... Beep... The rhythmic, cold echo of testing monitors filled the lower levels of the citadel. A young Varun lay strapped to a heavy metallic table, countless glowing tubes pierced into his small arms, forcibly pumping raw, unrefined energy into his veins. His body violently convulsed as the overwhelming power threatened to tear his cells apart. "The subject's baseline capacity is rejecting the energy infusion," a scientist in a white coat sai
