Prologue Tang Jiung died in Murim. He reincarnated into a boy on earth named Blue. Fifteen years later, the same gates that destroyed his world appeared on Earth. Humanity awakened. His best friend, Eve, had been one of the lucky ones. A Spirit Core awakened inside her, and a year ago she stepped through a golden gate to Thalorin. After Eve left, he spent his days as a dungeon porter while awakened hunters carved names for themselves. Officially, he was powerless. But qi still flowed through his body, a remnant of the life he'd lost. "Blue! Stop day dreaming, let's go!" Jon hollered. "Oh shit, my bad." Blue grabbed his bag and ran toward the gate. Another D-rank gate today. "There's some crystals right as you enter." One of the hunters pointed. "Make sure you don't miss any." Blue looked over at Jon. "These guys would be helpless without us." "Don't say that." Jon replied. "You trying to get us killed?" One of the other porters chimed in as they stepped through the gate. "I bet Blue could probably beat those D-Ranks." A few men laughed. "You sure you not awakened man? I've never seen anyone with your strength who wasnt." Another porter chimed in. "Seriously, you're a freak of nature." Blue just smiled. For fifteen years he had secretly cultivated qi using the breathing technique his grandfather taught him in Murim before his death. Earth wasn't like Murim. Qi here was faint. Blue touched his abdomen. Fifteen years of cultivation… and my dantian is still barely the size of a pea. The men worked for hours retrieving crystals and corpses of monsters. As they walked out of the gate, bags full. The porters stopped Blue. "Hey, want to grab a bite to eat with us?" "Not tonight fellas. We've been running gates for a few days, I need to go home." Blue answered the men. "Your loss, we'll see you Friday then!" "Okay, see you guys Friday." Blue took the bag of crystals and corpses and threw them into the back of a truck and walked away. "Do you think he is hiding himself?" One of the hunters in the truck asked. "That bag has to weigh at least 500 pounds." "I don't know but that kid is a monster..." the team leader said. "...That's why I always request Jon's team and I don't give them any shit." As Blue walked he could smell it. Pizza. The old man's pizza shop. Eve's favorite, and a staple of their days in high school. Blue stopped in for a slice. "Well hey blue, typical order?" Blue smiled. "Yeah. But to go please." "One cherry coke and a slice of cheese comin' right up." "Here ya go young man." The old man handed Blue his order. "How's Eve by the way, have ya heard from her?" "I haven’t. As far as I know she's still in Thalorin." "Okay, well you take care of yourself Blue." "I will." Blue walked outside and sat on the bench behind the parlor. He watched the old man close up shop. They waved to each other. That's when it happened. The temperature behind the shop spiked. The area started to get darker. Blue stood, searching for signs of monsters. Then behind him he heard it. Cracks in the air, like an arc of electricity. He looked at his arms. The hair stood straight up. A Crack split the space on front him. Blue froze. Too afraid to move, but curious nonetheless. Golden light burst forward. Blue covered his eyes with his arms. Then the light dimmed. Blue now stood in front of a golden gate. The things that lead to other worlds. A voice flashed in his mind. " When you get to where you belong, we'll begin." "HELLO? WHO'S THERE?" Blue yelled as he looked around frantically. "What the fuck was that?" he muttered. "No way right?" Blue steeled himself. He took a step forward and stopped. "This is crazy. Im not even awakened." He pictured David and Mary. The two who had raised Blue here. "She would freak out if I disappear." The voice came through again. "Come." Blue pulled out his phone. His thumbs hovered for a moment. Then he typed. Mom, I love you guys, I'll be back. Blue slapped his head. "Okay, fuck it." Blue walked toward to gate. Bef
