5 years ago I am Tomiwa a gentle boy of SS2 class, I was having a conversation with my friend Jeje. Jeje came to tease me, seeing I’m a gentle and easy going boy. Our class then was known for the best, because of the kind of student that we do have in the whole of MOSAFE Private College. The current SS2 students are the best, when they were in JSS1 they’re the best and even at SS1 when the school had to open admission for new student, the class still retains distinction student in the whole of the school history. The current SS2 class is special both in sport and books. The science class consist of Philip, Infeanyi, Jacob, Rotimi just to mention but few. The art class also has Franklin, Favour, Grace etc and the commercial class Motunrayo, Zainab, Francis etc. The school principal Mr. Steven use to have at least a general class with the SS2 student in a day. He teaches a general combined subject which is Biology. Anytime Mr. Steven comes around the whole class use to be calm and still because of the way he took time to explain the topic: ‘’The male and female sexual reproductive organ.’’ He said a lot of things that makes the student consciousness, and it looks as if we have been exposed especially the male students. One of Mr. Steven statement was that ‘’some people do not have time to shave there private part, it smells and itch everytime.’’ ‘’Ahhahahahah’’ we all started laughing, that’s hilarious, so amusing, and also it is a cordial truth for some of us to bare. Every break time, every free period as a new student I will walk quietly into the library to read my books. It was a free period when Philip walk to me in the library where I was reading, he then stumbled at my report card from my former school. ‘’whaaat mathematics C4 when I was able to bit down master Charles Equation and got an A’’ my poor performance at Hopeful College was not as a result of my teacher, I was the one at fault. Not that I was not brilliant but, I was not too good at mathematics. I only manage to go far in my equations, because I usually doubt there’s a way when I solve half way. I hate thinking too much in order to see the end of an equation. I will just prefer to leave it half way that wasting my time thinking about how it’ll end. I just simply attempt a little of others and leave the exam hall smiling. ‘’I can’t even imagine myself getting B not to talk of a C’’ Phillip quickly added and I was speechless through out. Thank God, it was only myself and Philip that was in the library, I quickly picked up my report card and hid it properly in the textbook I was reading. Philip was one of the best science student in the class, he was supposed to have the best in science award but it was given to Infeanyi in SS1 class, also the best in mathematics was supposed to be Philip but it was given to infeanyi. Philip was so curious that he began to ask the principal why, ‘’is Infeanyi the only student in the class?’’ The principal replied with a gentle smile.‘’ truly not but then just 2 marks and few points is enough to win a trophy’’ The principal replied, pointing at the computer broadsheet were the records of the whole science class was calculated, Philip can now see for himself that the best in mathematics possibly supposed to be Jacob, if not for 2marks following the ranking of numbers across the broadsheet, Jacob did well in mathematics and a 3points higher than Philip but Infeanyi came up with 2marks higher than Jacob. In the science aggregate, Infeanyi lead again with few points higher than Philip and Jacob. These three students seems to be the best because they only fight over few marks ahead of each other. And this is the class I found myself, after I had fought over the fear of mathematics in my former school and often see mathematics as a difficult subject.
