In the church, I have started attending series of church programs. I have learnt how to blow the trumpets so well. Every Saturdays was our youth choir rehearsal, I will always be on my way to Ijoko where our headquarters church is located I don’t miss anytime we are called upon to minister somewhere in crusade, in an outreach and church programs. I was always available, at my local church and at the headquarters I was known and regular there. One day I was selected among the few that were invited to another church’s concert. It was wonderful my friend Bro Samuel blew the trombone, I blew the trumpet, and Earnest played the keyboard. The time is short we could only rendered few songs and we did it perfectly that it became the talk of the town. We went with our church keyboard and musical instruments because that is simply what was stated in the invitation letter. They ask us to come with every available musical instrument in our church, just to celebrates Gods faithfulness together with them. We had a nice Sunday afternoon praise that day and we I can never forget. One of the things I love doing is to be among the few that will be selected for special programs, I am always honored and happy to be part of the church first guest minister team then. And this all started when I suddenly mastered the act of blowing the trumpet, I started with hymns I was thought by a Brother Joshua a young vibrant trumpeter of my age. He can only be older than me with 2years or less. Joshua Babalola’s house was just a few distance away from my house, we attended the same primary school, the same local church and that is where I met him. He was young and full of strength, his stature his big and bold and stronger than me. He has started blowing the trumpet before I joined the choir, it was through him I knew choir practice. He will hold my hands and cross the express road of Sango-ota, towards Oju-Ore the former headquaters church. In 2012, when our local church eventually emerge as a new region under Ijoko, he will be the reason why I don’t miss rehearsal, even when my mother has no means of paying my transport fare to the headquarters church, Joshua will make sure he takes enough money from his mother Mummy Babalola that will be enough to take us to and fro. Although, we were known for late coming, most times we have to wait for each other. I will wait in his house and expect Emmanuel Adebiyi to join us then we move together. Joshua and Emmanuel were the first to write SSCE Senior School Certificate Examination, during that period I usually find my way alone to the rehearsal. Most times I do trek from my house and straight down I don’t usually mind the noise of the passing vehicles I just face my front and walk down to the headquarters church. Most times to avoid the road side noise from huge trucks and vehicle I would take short cut that will save time and stress at the main road. But then, I do get to the rehearsal late, my CM Pastor Taiwo would not give me any role to lead because I was always coming late to rehearsal. I do shy away from becoming a leader, I don’t like ‘’the leader mindset.’’ In leading songs, I cannot solo, I can only duet or part a song and I was always singing out, and active when learning a new song. Even though I do not know the song I will make sure I opened my mouth to sing along until I know the song and I can sing it confidently without looking at my notebook. I can sing the tenor part best but I was not the part leader. I prefer to sing well amidst the crowd than to sing along facing the crowd. I sing well whenever I am in the choir often, or whenever I am playing my trumpet with the orchestra, I play with all my strength and avoid mistakes because I am the loudest. I was not the only one who can play the trumpet very well when Joshua stopped coming to rehearsal because of his final examination.
