Chapter 11: The Greatest Planner in the West Elanore walked with a wyern girl next to her and a cauldron floating behind her. Ever since the wyvern had the energy drink, she sprouted wings in her human form. I guess those advertisements were true in another world. If this one came true, I wonder how many others did? “Mistress?” The wyvern asked. “You are getting distracted again. Did you say where we were heading?” “No, we are going on an adventure. You are the native of this world, so I assumed you would know where settlements are.” The wyvern nodded and pointed ahead with her finger. “There is a rather large settlement ahead if we keep walking. At this pace, it would likely take us a week to reach it.” “Damn, you really live out in the boonies. I guess that is to be expected from someone raised in a barn. Well, are there any tourist activities that you recommend while we head in that direction?” The wyvern shrugged. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. If you want to reach it earlier, we could simply fly, you know? We would arrive in way less time.” “What happens if they see your big form?” The vampire looked at the wings on the wyvern’s back. “Wait, I guess you can fly like this.” Naela nodded. “Do you have any more of that thing you call energy drink? I would like another one, please.” “No! As much as I would like to satisfy your craving and make you a fellow addict, that has a very bad ending. In another life, I died from drinking too many of them. I had seven, and my heart stopped.” The wyvern’s eyes widened. “Your heart can stop from something so good?” “Well yes, even if we weren’t talking about energy drinks, there are lots of good things that can stop your heart. They say that when someone falls in love it’s common for their heart to skip a beat. That’s some real heart stopping action.” The vampire stuck out her tongue. “Bleh, such mortal cravings are beneath me.” On hearing that, Pot finally had something to say. “What about me, mistress? Does your heart love me?” “Of course, but not in the same way.” She looked to the pleading wyvern next and sighed. “You too.” Naela chuckled. “Thank you.” Elanore shook her head in exasperation. They say that you can judge a person’s character by the type of company they keep. I say that none of this counts. I didn’t choose my company. It was more like found family. The vampire sighed. “At this rate, we will really never reach the settlement. As much as I wanted to hike over there, I suppose we can fly.” Excitement started bubbling within the vampire as she cast [Fly] and took to the air on her staff. I wonder if the buildings of this world will be like they were in the game? When Elanore was just a character in an MMO, there were many different kinds of structures all inspired by historical elements mixed with fantasy. It was not uncommon to see floating islands or crystal kingdoms. She wondered if it would be possible to sell her energy drinks. If she could get the entire world addicted to them, she would basically be able to rule over the land and skies. Though, in order for that plan to work, I need to make new recipes. When she listened to her internal thoughts, she wanted to laugh. It made her sound like some kind of stimulant terrorist. Maybe the kingdoms will experiment on me if they find out I am smuggling energy drinks? A manapire to power their empire. And then, they would put me on the pyre! /// After putting aside her thoughts of becoming a flaming vampire, it didn’t take their group long to reach the city with their flying speed. Elanore wasn’t sure what she expected, but now she stood behind some bushes with her gang. She parted the leaves and stared at a cobbled road leading into a city. Stone blocks made up a wall that surrounded the place, and there was a lifted portcullis letting carriages pass in or out. White banners hung on down either side of the entrance, and on it, there was a depiction of a tiger-colored mammoth head. The same emblem could be seen on
