So what, are you supposed to be some kind of undead king?” The blue flaming eyes of the zombie next to his king sparked to life, their fire growing in intensity. “Such insolence! Not only that, you wield my halberd as if it’s the most natural thing!” Ella looked to the halberd in her hand with a smug smile and spun it around. “What do you think? Does it look cool on me? Though, your king is the cool looking one! Man, all of those spikes on your shoulders remind me of an old wrestler!” The vampire’s eyes roamed down to his black staff. “I would actually be willing to let you leave here if I can have that thing!” King Kazaldoor grinned with his pale, cracked lips, and he tapped his staff on the ground. The undead king looked towards all of the followers behind him and spread his arms out wide. “I guess you are the one that dealt with Zuldoor before. But aren’t you a little dense? No matter how powerful you are, can you not see the army in front of you?” The vampire turned her attention to all of the undead who’d crawled out of the flaming blue cracks in the ground. How many of these guys are there? Thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Elanore had no idea if she could count wraiths as people with their own bodily autonomy. Then again, what even made a person? Here she was, staring at two zombies heading a large undead operation while being a vampire herself. She looked at the rattling, bony skeletons and the floating liches. “Well, yeah,” Elanore said, “there are a lot of you, but for me, it’s like looking at a bunch of potential loot and experience. Perhaps, I am close enough to level?” A frown graced King Kazaldoor’s face. “You have spunk, but it will all be meaningless. No matter how strong you are, you cannot get away from this…” The king lifted the hand not clutching his staff. Elanore grinned. “You have something prepared for me!? I am so lucky! This is like a boss event.” A black ring with the head of a skeleton was visible on King Kazaldoor’s pale finger. “I was saving this, but for you, I will make an exception. [Kazaldoor’s Vengeance: Hand of Death].” The black ring began to fade away into tiny particles of black dust, and the sound of it shattering echoed after. Reality seemed to wobble, and a large black hand crawled out of the blue abyss beneath the ground. Elanore looked at the crawling black hand with a frown on her face. “Bleh, that is disgusting! Don’t tell me this thing is coming to steal my soul!” The hand reached up and started to wrap around Elanore. It gripped her tightly and began pulling her down towards the earth. “Ew! This thing feels weird! Ah yes, I forgot, I probably should equip my robes.” With a small thought, the clothes she was wearing banished into pink mist, and what replaced them was her familiar witch robes. The moment she equipped them, the white garments flashed with pink light. The pink particles ate the black hand of death like tiny termites eating a wooden structure in a cartoon. The hand fell away into ashes as if it was snapped out of existence. King Kazaldoor, who looked ready to command his army, froze. His pale undead face stopped, and he stared at the woman in front of him in disbelief. “What!? That’s impossible! That item was crafted for centuries beneath the Kazaldoorian flames of purgatory! It’s an item that will bring about death to even gods!” Elanore cringed. “I don’t want to rain on your parade, but these robes kinda give me immunity to death.” “Immunity to death!? That effect…” Zuldoor looked towards his king in panic. “My liege?” King Kazaldoor pointed with his staff. “Kill her!” The vampire watched all of the undead before her act together. They were like rows and rows of ants obeying the orders of a queen. I guess a king in this case… It started with the liches. Each of them began chanting their fir
