The door clicked shut behind them as they left the scene of the crime. Jin didn't even look back; he just walked forward fast. He needed to distance himself from that place. "You're truly insane, do you know that?" Joon walked beside him like nothing happened, adjusting the duffel bag on his shoulder, completely unbothered. "You've already asked me that like three times already," he replied casually. "Aren't you impressed?" "No! I am NOT impressed at all!" Jin snuck a glance over his shoulder to see if there were any witnesses, "You're just robbed a house in broad daylight and invited me to be your accomplice." "Relax, Jin-Jin, nobody saw you. I planned out the entire thing. Nobody is home in the neighbourhood during this time of day on this street." "That's not the point!" Joon smirked, now whistling away like they were just out for a morning walk. "So what is this, the way you're making it these days?" "Something like that, one of many." "Why would you do this?" "It works, doesn't it?" Jin didn't respond because he kind of had a point, it did work, and he was clearly good at this, but stealing from an innocent family didn't feel good. They kept walking down the street, which was still empty. Joon was right about it being quiet this time of day. "…You're insane," he muttered again. Joon grinned and put his free hand around his shoulders and pulled him close. "Yeah, yeah. So what was that call about earlier?" Jin slowed slightly. "…What?" "The thing you called me about," Joon said, tilting his head. "Don't tell me you came all this way because you missed your old pal." Jin let out a breath through his nose. He had almost forgotten in the middle of everything else. "…Yeah." He shoved his hands into his pockets, thinking for a second. "…I was going to bring it up earlier." Joon raised an eyebrow. "Then bring it up now." Jin glanced at him; he was clearly very interested in what he had to say. "…I'm starting something." "What kind of something?" Jin hesitated. "…An organization." Joon smirked once more. "An organization," he repeated. "That sounds boring." "It's not boring." "What will your organization even do?" Jin exhaled slowly. "Well... it's kind of... complicated..." "Uncomplicate it for me." "It's a criminal organization, a way to make money and run Seoul." That clearly got Joon's attention; his eyes widened with surprise for a second, then he burst out laughing, a full, loud, doubled-over laugh that made him stop walking entirely, one hand gripping the duffel bag while the other pressed against his stomach. "…You?" he managed between breaths. "A criminal organization?" Jin's jaw tightened. "I'm serious." "That's why it's funny!" Joon shot back, straightening up but still grinning like he just heard the best joke of the year. "You're the last person I'd expect to say something like that." Jin didn't respond immediately. Joon kept going. "Seriously, you?" he pointed at him. "The guy who used to lecture me about skipping class? The one who dragged me out of fights because you 'didn't want it on your record'?" "That was years ago." "Yeah, and I thought you stayed that guy." Jin exhaled slowly, looking ahead instead of at him. "…Things change." Joon tilted his head slightly, still smiling. "Yeah?" Jin nodded once. "Yeah." They walked a few steps in silence. Then Joon spoke again. "So what happened? You got a nice job that pays enough. What could possibly have you wanting to join the dark side?" Jin hesitated. "…I got fired." Joon's grin faded just a little. "…Seriously?" "Yeah." Jin shoved his hands deeper into his pockets. "I got blamed for something I didn't do and for once stood up for myself..." "Of course." Joon clicked his tongue. "Figures." Jin let out a short breath. "I spent years doing everything right, I kept my head down and did what I was supposed to do." He shook his head slightly. "... but it didn't matter in the end." "And then on the same day… I've got people chasing me over money, no job, nowhere to go…" He l
