As my transformation drew to a close, the remaining ambient Sulfur Ghasts that had circled the edges of the room started to pull back. As my body slowly completed itself, it seemed that all the monsters had the same collective idea, and they too, began to combine and change. Considering that we had yet to meet the monster from the lore that could cause madness, I assumed that this amalgamation must be the true ruler of this cave. The final result of their fusion was an enormous, hulking demonic beast. Its horns were crooked and long, scraping the ceiling, and its eyes blazed with intense, crimson fury. Its powerful front limbs were armed with razor-sharp claws, and its leathery wings beat a threatening, booming tempo that echoed through the cavern. The monster was evidently vastly superior in strength compared to a standard Ghast or any other monstrosity we had experienced since arriving in Xeenar. The fear and trepidation that Grimora felt through our link was mirrored by what was dribbling down the monster's mouth; a thick, glowing saliva that actively melted the solid stone beneath it. A cold chill coursed through my new, dense body, a shocking realization that I was about to face off against a monster born from the most dangerous beings of Xeenar. Looking over my shoulder to Grimora, who was still caged within my protective gelatinous mass, I met her gaze. Her eyes were wide but determined, ready for the inevitable confrontation. "Master," she whispered, her tone filled with fear yet anchored by an underlying strength and resoluteness. "The Sovereign Sulphur Ghast." “Grimora, be prepared to run,” I ordered urgently, my focus turning back towards the enormous Ghast. Its seething glare was almost tangible, a heavy wave of animosity that made the atmosphere thick with suffocating tension. All around us, the cavern fell into an ellipsis of dead silence, the only sounds being the heavy shuffling of the monstrous beast and the quickening rhythm of my newly-formed pulse. As the monstrous ghast reared its head, preparing for an attack, I solidified my determination and anchored my feet. Time seemed to slow as the monstrous Ghast lunged towards us. The sheer force of its movement cracked the floor. My form surged upward to meet the attack, seething with anticipation. “I think we're about to see how much capital I've actually gained," I muttered, leaping forward to meet the attacking Ghast. The clash of our raw physical power sent a massive shockwave rippling throughout the cavern, shattering loose rock, and sending both me and the Ghast flying in opposite directions. Though my body felt temporarily numb from the powerful kinetic impact, I quickly got back onto my feet, getting ready for the next assault. Across the room, the Ghast also rose, shaking its massive head, apparently dazed from the collision. We both leaped towards each other again, my resolve hardening even further, ready to meet my enemy. Grimora's eyes gleamed with determination from her protective bubble. "Be careful, Master," she projected through our link. It was her absolute faith and trust in me, her belief in my leadership, that made me push my limits further. We clashed again, but this time I didn't throw a punch. A burst of energy surged through me, and my body rapidly expanded on impact, losing its solid shape to act as a net as I attempted to absorb the Sulphur Ghast directly into me. The cavern lit up with an array of blinding ethereal colors, the power crackling between us, the tension mounting to its peak in a symphony of chaotic battle. Just when I thought that I had won the grapple, the creature opened its jaws from inside of my mass and let out a piercing scream. The physical force of the sound was not great, but there was something dark and twisted mixed into the frequency. Suddenly, agonizing screams ripped through my mind like a thousand women and children being slaughtered. It was a psychic attack. My form burst open violently as the induced madnes
