In the distance he could see a dozen of noble soldiers hiding behind boulders and makeshift passes. What the pass lack right now is a daredevil squad to attack. They could defend but they could not attack. This is a weakness that Henrik quickly identified. Henrik stand on one of the routes and behind him is those twenty men. For a moment Henrik did not know what to do. He closes his eyes and he takes a deep breath. “Centre yourself” he mutters to himself. Taking a deep breath and then he exhales and then he opens his eyes and he nodded to himself like some kind of encouragement He could fight. “I could fight. Better than I thought” He said something to himself. That is something he had learned with each death. Each death is filled with fighting. And there is no better motivator, no better situation where your potential explodes. He did not remember what that paper title was. He did not remember who wrote it. He just remembers that when faced with death, sometimes, people potential explodes. It is like the brain working in overdrive, stimulating all potential to try to reject death with all of its might Even those who wanted to kill themselves, would sometimes fight for life even when they begged for death Henrik experiences this. But unlike other people, his experience could hardly be replicated or studied. Because he died. And he come back. And the potential, the pain, the experience all stay with him. Like an uninterrupted memories. He shakes his head “Not the time to think about death.” he looks again at the route in front of him and he frowned. “How to defend this route?” he asks himself and he walk alongside the ledges of the hill he is walking on and he looks around. “Hmm” he then brought out a cloth and wipes some of the blood and the mud on his face. He took the cloth among the many supplies that Balint has. For a moment he did not know what to do. Suddenly Matthias walk beside him and whispers to him a few words He whispers to his ears for a few minutes. Henrik nodded every few second. And then Matthias takes a step back humbly. Henrik look at Matthias with a different kind of gaze “There is something about this kid” Henrik thought but now is not the time to discern such things. He turns around to look at his men “Men. Prepare the ground. Anyone who knows how to make a trap, make it. Use the loosen rocks and stack it if you can. Cut some sharpened stakes. Go and ask Commander Balint if he had any defensive weapons, he could share with us. Armour, weapons, ask him to share some if he could” “Aye!” some of them shouted and begin following his order. And then Henrik begin creating fallback point. Ten men on each line. He would want a bigger fallback points but he has only twenty men. Five men is too little so, ten men creating two fallback points. The reasons why he could not reduce the men is because these men that he leads are not armoured soldiers. They are not even experienced soldiers. If Henrik leave them with only five men, one sight of trouble and they collapse and they could not even fall back in order. Even if the second fallback point, wanted to cover them with arrows, if they already scattered and collapse on the first charge, then it would be better to concentrate the force on one point instead of creating such a fallback point in case the route is breached. So, Henrik had to assign ten men on each fallback points. Benedek would order the infantry and Miklos would order the archers. The archers are on the second line, ten to twenty meters behind. If the first lien breaks, the men could fall back in order. “I could do this because the route is narrow. If not, I could never dare put ten men on such a simple crudely made defences” Now, he had used all of his men. Then what about the scouts. He himself would be the scout. And he begins scouting. He orders Matthias to coordinate the men while Miklos will supervise him He gave other men to Benedek. He is more experienced than him and he would know what to do “I ne
