Five months passed in the blink of an eye. Jean left two weeks after giving Dobromir the offer from NGI. He had been disappointed by Dobromir's refusal, but he respected his decision and left without pressuring him any longer. After that, peace finally returned to the museum. No more forced overtime. No more late-night document corrections. No more scanning ancient objects until Dobromir started seeing historical relics in his dreams. It was wonderful. Almost suspiciously wonderful. With proper sleep and a slightly less miserable schedule, Dobromir's complexion visibly improved. The black circles under his eyes did not disappear completely, but at least he no longer looked like a corpse trying to pass as an employee. He also received the promised financial reward from the Director. Which meant he no longer needed to use the evidence he had gathered to get that bastard kicked out. For now. Dobromir was a merciful man. Or, more accurately, a bribed man. Knock. Knock. Noticing someone knocking, Dobromir was about to invite them inside, but the person did not wait. The door opened naturally, and someone strolled in as if he owned the place. There was only one person in the whole museum with such audacity. "Noel," Dobromir grumbled, "one day your bad habit of ignoring other people's privacy will lead you into a very bad situation." "Haha. After walking in on the Director while he was gluing his wig to his head, I doubt there will ever be something worse." Noel laughed and sat in the chair across from Dobromir, then casually put his legs on Dobromir's desk. Dobromir looked at the shoes. Then at Noel. Then at the shoes again. "Put those legs down if you don't want me to shave your head during one of your naps." He smiled. It was a very calm smile. The kind of smile that made people remember they still had things to lose. At that, Noel obediently lowered his legs without saying a word. "You are really scary, Mir. How could you threaten my beautiful hair? You know very well how precious it is to me." Noel complained while clutching his chest like a shy maiden who had just been betrayed by her lover. This very feminine-sounding young man was Noel, the most popular guide in the whole museum. But that popularity came almost entirely from his looks and his shameless habit of flirting with visitors regardless of gender. With his long, lush hair and androgynous face, it was very hard to assign the correct gender to him at first glance. And Noel knew it. Of course he knew it. Being fully aware of his popularity and the money he earned for the museum, this brat abused his special treatment and acted however he wanted. Noel was not a bad person. But he was certainly the most unique person in the museum. And it took a lot of patience to understand what his true personality was deep down, beyond the theatrical nonsense he displayed every day. Unfortunately, Dobromir had known him long enough to understand it. This was both a blessing and a punishment. "So what do you want, Noel? I am busy. If you want to steal my snacks, take them and go." Dobromir pointed at the cabinet that was stocked with snacks seven days a week. Some were for his own enjoyment. Some served as a necessary bribe to the little devil so he could work in peace. "I emptied that yesterday, so you'd better resupply again, my dear Mir." Noel sighed dramatically. "And unfortunately, that is not what I am here for. The Director is calling everyone to the auditorium. The game has been finished, and he wants to watch the announcement with everyone." For a second, Dobromir did not respond. Finished? Already? It had only been a few months since the project to collect all the data had ended. Even if they were programming everything in virtual space with time dilation, and even if AI did most of the work, game development usually took at least two years. Testing bugs and other problems alone should have taken considerable time. Unless NGI had decided that bugs were simply another form of pl
