Chapter 21: The First Spark After pulling Harold's arm down, there was a ding sound, and then the images started to slow down. I was hoping for something interesting, or a weapon. My goal was still mechanized armor, so while getting the blueprints for the forge and smelter was a plus, there were more important things, and I was hoping for one of them. The first image slowed down, and the words common were flashing over the icon, which looked like a hammer and anvil. The second, however, was a shield. There were no weapons, which I was expecting, but the shield was good, considering I had an army to do the heavy lifting, the odds were that it was a special item, or had something else. Finally, the last icon came into view, and was a pair of gloves. Gloves? What am I going to do with a normal pair of gloves? "So, you got some crap? Not hard to believe, but what did you expect?" Harold asked after he lowered his arm and his face returned to normal. "Sure, but this is some hog wash. Do you see this? There aren't even any ingredients! Everything I would need doesn't even exist yet!" I complained, but then let out a sharp yell as the darn cat booted my shin. "Hey! Stop that, you stupid cat!" "I'm an AI, not a cat, and can take on any form I want. Also, if you can't handle the pain, then maybe you should try to build it before whining about it!" Harold shot back, and I glared at him. "Why would a freaking pair of gloves be a blueprint? It makes no sense. Why would the gods, or whatever give me a pair of gloves when the forge and smelter were free? I feel like Rngallia is messing with me!" I complained, and Harold gave me a weird look. "Rngallia?" I nodded. "Yeah, you know RNG but with a name? Rngesus is overused, and since I seem to be the only one in this world... Oh, no freakin way!" As I talked, an internal message for a new achievement entered my mind and I grinned stupidly. Divinity From the Grave Part 1: The First Spark – Imagine the first god into being. "Did you get that too?" I asked Harold, but then shut my mouth as the skeleton of what I assumed was a human started to materialize in slow motion... Very slow? "Is this supposed to happen this slow? Did I really just Imaginate a god? Goddess? Harold, help a brother out here." I looked at Harold, but he was just standing there, his digital expression frozen. I scrunched up my face in a frown, and spun around to look at my wolves, who had been all sitting with wagging bone tails, but those were also held mid swing like time had stopped. Had time stopped? Was that what was going on here? I turned back to see that the materializing skeleton had stopped, leaving the figure to look more like a wireframe model more than a rack of bones. "What am I supposed to do?" I asked out loud, and got the answer I expected. Nothing. I took a deep breath, let it out and focused on the problem. First, I had named the Goddess of Luck, Rngallia, and got an achievement for imagining a new god. Second, time stops and bones start forming, but stopped at what looks like a wireframe model. "Well," I mused. "Reason would say that I need to finish imagining what this goddess is going to look like, since I had no mental image when I thought of the name." I took my elbow in one hand and used the other to tap my chin as I mulled over what I wanted the new divine being to look like. I could imagine her as some unrivaled beauty like in the few mecha-cultivation novels I have read, or do everyone dirty and make her undead! The look on Nathan's face would be priceless! Still, there was another option. An option that made no sense with this world, and was likely to annoy everyone but me, but hey, I could die for real here. That being the case, I might as well leave my mark on this world! As I pieced together my perfect image of my new goddess, the wireframe changed from bones to the exoskeleton of robot with female proportions. Then, the process not only started again, it increased in speed as well. I smiled ear
