Chapter 7: The Good Kind of Stalker I arrived at the Ani-CON meeting room a half-hour late and panting, and the door opened, revealing a grinning Nathan. "So, where have you been? Did something happen?" He asked, but when he saw my condition, his smile turned into a grin. I shrugged as I caught my breath. "Do you know Ciara?" I asked after catching my breath, but for some reason, Nathan rolled his eyes at me, leaving me a bit confused. Before I could ask him more, Nathan put up his hand to stop me. "So, she finally made her move?" Nathan asked, his smile looking more lopsided than normal. My face scrunched up, and I suddenly felt uneasy for some reason. This was not the reply I was expecting from my best friend, and he didn't seem to care about it at all and he looked like he was having the time of this life! "What is going on, Nathan? Did you know she would talk with me?" I asked, and his smile just grew wider. "Oh, I knew that she had been stalking you, but I had no idea she was going to actually make a move. This is way better than I had expected," He replied, and I froze. "Stalker? Like, planning my death? Is she going to lure me out to a place, then kill me, and then wear my skin?!" I gasped, and Nathan gave a belly laugh, but when he saw I was dead serious, he sobered. "Sorry, Allen, I forgot you are not used to being liked," Nathan said, and patted me on the shoulder, making me feel a bit better. "So, Ciara isn’t a killer? Or does she just have some strange real world powers?" I asked, rubbing at one arm nervously. I knew there was something fishy about this damn woman... right? Wait, did he say liked? "Yeah, Ciara isn't a killer. She is just a pretty girl that likes you. I was talking about being liked in a romantic sense. Also, she is just a normal human, mostly, but that is beside the point. I am surprised she actually went to talk with you, but I don't really understand why you are acting this way, but this is how you are," Nathan said, then looked around, "Anyways, let's go inside and meet the others." Others? I looked up and finally took in the room and the group of people that were waiting in it. There were only a few people in the room, but I know any of them... oh wait, there was Ciara. "Who are these people?" I asked, but then did a quick head count, and raised an eyebrow. "5 others, plus us? These are the other players?" "As usual, you are fast on the uptake, Allen. These are, but I don't know any of them except Ciara. Everyone else is from different places in the world, and all are the best people in their respective gaming circles. Well, except for Ciara. Her dad is the owner of the company in partnership with my dads, and she has a crush on you," Nathan explained, a smirk pulling at his face that made me push him until I had him in the farthest corner from the group. "Stop being a tool!" I growled, already feeling the stress of talking to other people building in the pit of my stomach. "You know how I am in groups! And stop casually throwing around statements like that about her!" "About who?" A familiar musical voice asked from behind me that might as well have been a dragon's roar because I froze stiff as a board. "You, stalker girl! I hear you finally made your move! How did that even happen? I thought you were going to wait till today to introduce yourself?" Nathan asked like I wasn't a stone statue between them. The shorter brown haired girl came around, and bumped Allen with her hip, gently. Unfortunately, in his state of fear, he was not prepared, and was sent flying away, but he managed to grab onto a nearby table leg. "That was an accident," She told Nathan, giving him a glare, then a sweet smile, "and yes, I did. I just couldn't stand watching him any longer. I was also worried about his health. His face was so red, and his heart was pounding, that I was afraid he might get sick, but now I know that his body has a positive reaction to mine." At this point, I was trying to decide if it might be be
