Chapter 78: New Upgrades! I was feeling a bit uneasy about what was to happen next. Sure, I had gotten a crash course on the noble stuff, but that wasn’t what was bothering me. No, it was the massive pit filled with over 2000 stinking bodies. “This is… Umm, what do you plan on doing with these… Corpses, My Lord?” Seraphine asked, and I just pursed my lips and mulled over things before speaking. “Well, I don’t like the idea of keeping mindless undead around, but there is no way I am giving any of these people back their humanity. Not that any of these had any to begin with,” I grumbled, scrunching my nose as I did. The smell was awful. Seraphine frowned, and then turned to me. “My Lord, none of them?” “Rapists, arsonists, thieves, and murders. That is the crimes of the ones down there,” I said with disgust, and then turned to face her. “Remember when I clothed you all before any of you could move?” Seraphine nodded, so I continued. “You saw that I didn’t do that this time. Instead, I tested to see just how bad it would be without my intervention. Bad doesn’t even come close. 2166 people, Seraphine. That is how many people were taking advantage of the situation and vulnerable people. I don’t want to bring any of them back.” There was a long pause between us, but then Seraphine took my hand and nodded. “Then what will you do with them?” I let out a sigh, but smiled. It had only been a few days, but I felt like it had been ages since I had been in the Flesh Hanger. I also needed to figure out what I could do with the Prismatic Core when I got it, but I would also need more troops to get it. Sure, I could send in Stabby and his crew, but Vane was more for the finer details, and I wasn’t going for wholesale slaughter. Rather than speak, I reached forward with my free hand and mentally pulled at the souls in the pit. In an instant, they rushed into me, and I felt the number beside the swirling ‘S’ in my mind grow much faster than it should have. It seemed that some people's souls were worth more? I didn’t know how it worked but when all the bodies in the pit turned to black particles I was left with almost three times as many Spirit Points. “What just happened?” Seraphine ask with confusion, and I smiled as I started to walk to the Flesh Hanger in the far back corner of the estate, opposite from where everyone else was training. “I absorbed them to use in my Flesh Hangar. I basically whip the character model clean, and rebuild it from the ground up. Doing this will create a blank personality like you see with my Elites, but this time I plan on giving them proper coding to adapt and learn, with restrictions. This should allow for personalities to grow, but it is still a fish bowl idea in my head,” I explained as we reached the large bone shed. As we did, the doors opened to show complete blackness. It was like the world ended at the edge of the doors. With the “Long Night” still active, and the purple light of the scar in the sky made it even more intimidating. “So… Do we just go in?” Seraphine asked softly, pressing closer to me, and gripping my hand slightly tighter. That was a good question. I knew that I would enter the extra dimensional space, but I had never brought anyone else in with me.
