Chapter 22: Minor Blessing Rngallia's smile became a frown, but a confused one, not angry or upset. "What are you? I know that I now have control over everything in this world that has anything to do with luck, but you're just a child. How can you have such power?" This was a very good question, but one I clearly had no answer for, or at least one I could confirm. "I... Well, I am Allen, and let's just say that I have been here since the beginning. You know, when the world was only grass and trees? Not that it is much more than that currently," I replied, scratching the back of my head, feeling a bit uncomfortable, like our roles had somehow become switched with the look of curiosity the goddess was giving me. "Hmmm, a being that creates gods and has been here since the beginning? Does that make you the god then? Like the one that stands above myself?" Rngallia asked, and I could only shrug with my shoulders and hands out to the side. "No clue. I am honestly just as confused as you are," I replied, and then looked around again to see that everything was still frozen. "Are you the one making time stop, or is there something else I have to do for you?" "According to the laws of this world, no gods can exist on the mortal plane. So, while we talk like this, we are in the Aether Plains, which is just an alternate reality overlaid on the mortal realm. This causes the other realm to stop completely so we can speak," Rngallia explained, and my eyebrows shot up. "You already know that?" I asked, but then put up my hand to stop her. "No, wait. Does this mean you know everything about this world?" Rngallia raised her left arm with her gloved hand flat and wiggled it. "I know what there is to know. As you said, this world has barely started to form, and even now towns and cities are being started as nothing more than small groupings of houses, nothing more. I think it will take another week before the first humans and monsters start forming. Once that happens, this world will start changing much faster, but that is all I know." I nodded, and went back to tapping my chin. It was a habit I got from playing games and trying to figure out hidden achievements. It was almost like I was trying to tap an idea free, but the gesture had helped keep me grounded in this world of perpetual sun and only two clouds that never left the area. "What happens now?" I asked, pulling myself from my brooding thoughts to focus on Rngallia again. "I shall head to the Pantheon of Gods, but since you created me, I will be able to communicate with you through your friend, Harold," she explained, and then reached forward with had she wiggled and placed her clawed glove on top of my head. "But, before I leave, I shall give you my blessing." Before she could do that, I gently took her hand by the wrist and removed it from my head. "Hold on. Just what kind of blessing are you thinking?" I asked with a kind smile as I let go of her. I might have created this goddess, but she was still a goddess, and I had nothing but respect for this metallic beauty. Even so, creating a goddess that bent the laws of luck was one thing, but getting a crazy strong buff to improve my luck wasn't something I wanted. Sure, it would help me, but considering our roles, I was sure she was about to lay it on thick. If that happened, and my luck stat, which was probably zero, ballooned, that was going to make everything way too easy. "But you could die," I muttered sarcastically to myself, and then focused on Rngallia. Sure I could die, but learning that because of my timing into the game, I had some modicum of control over how the world worked opened my eyes up to some insane ideas I wouldn't have dreamed before. Because of those ideas, I felt like I would be cheating if I gained whatever she had planned for me. "If you are going to bless me, can you please make it a minor one?" I asked and she held her hand in the air with a strange look on her face. "A minor blessing? Why? You just said that y
