After who knows how long, the sounds of rumbling and ringing open his eyes again. “Hey?” … “Are you up?” I barely had time to think as my eyes focused in on the darkness around me and I took a deep breath, hearing the call once again. “You are? Excellent! You’re right on time!” Squirming around and blinking frantically I turned to get a good look around. Trying to make sense of my surroundings shrouded in darkness but even without light I knew I’d never seen this place. "Where am I now?" No answer huh? Well even without one, a look up and down an I can kinda get the gist. Looks like I had a hard fall but would that mean it’s all real? That I fell from the sky? No thats impossible though, wouldn't I have died?! Running my hands though the debri, I sat up to prepare myself for whatever hell awaits next. Asking the only truth I’ll never know. "Was any of it real? Or was it all in my head?" Hearing it resonate in the dark, that unknown voice responded once more. Its voice seemingly coming from every corner at once. “You know that's a great question but you'll never find out the answer staying down here, couped up in your head. Let’s take this interrogation to the surface instead." Not a bad idea but even now as I rise to my feet whoever’s speaking has yet to show and that worries more than if I was down here alone. Because as of now I don't know if its a friend… or foe. And when you don't know the difference only time can show but it seemed to know that too. Before I could even voice my suspicions, it spoke up first as if it already knew. " Calm down, I wouldn't hit you while you're down. I know you’ll have a hard time trusting me. So before we get into who’s-who, take a moment to catch yourself, you did just fall from the sky." I wanted to know how it knew that. Had this thing been up there with me in the sky? Or was it the reason I came crashing down? I wanted to open my mouth and question it more but if it was truly an enemy, why would it have gone out its way to wake me up off the ground? in the mist of my silence the rubble beneath my feet began to shake and a low screech echoed towards me from deep beneath the ground. Nearly knocking me off my feet as the voice pressed me again. “Your full of questions so I'm guessing you need an answer to cooperate since you still on the fence? Fine, your a long way from Tetra so you’re pretty far from home. Now can we get going before you and whatever that thing is are together alone?” Interesting he knows so much with so little to tell. Either way, let's see where this goes hopefully it ends well. I didn’t know for sure but I felt those words were true like I heard them before. And that sensation of familiarity brought a smile to my face. “Tetra? Is that really where I’m from?” After a moment of silence, The Voice responded sounding slightly annoyed. " Yes so how about I get you out of here alive first then I'll tell you a thing or two about the place?” Well played, looks like he has no choice but to play along and hope it turns out well. Hmmmm I can't pass up a chance to find a way back. Plus if I stay here whatever that sound was from earlier is bound to find me and will definitely attack. "Alright then I guess you can lead the way. Where am I now anyways?" With a speed that could only be excitement, the Voice responds with glee. “See! Now that I can answer! Your on Verna , well at least what's left of it. Honestly the place has seen better times. But if we’re getting specific you're where the worst of the worst live/, that few others can! You my friend are in the The Black Desert , home of the eternal sand!” Looking up at the violet light shining onto the yellow rocks resting right at the surface, I found my way through the dark and made my way towards the rocks and the increasing cold winds blowing down from above kept rolling in sand. “Since when were deserts cold?” Hearing a loud crunch from above as rocks rain down corroded by the sands, The Voice carries on without a care, ignorin
