"Would you rather lose yourself? Or end up dead?” My eyes opened to the sight of countless lights slowly burning away in the ever expanding void of The Nexus. And beyond those pounding lights was an unforgettable mound of blue and green drifting further and further away. And by the time I opened my eyes again it was speck that was out of sight but never out my mind. Even while fighting the crippling pain holding me in place, the heat building in my spine, I held onto the memories. Because the further I get, more and more of them drift from my mind, right before my eyes and I can't do a thing but watch them race back home. But I don’t want to lose my truth it’s the only thing I’ve got left and I hate to be alone. Please… don't leave me behind and race back home. It was just for a moment when I closed my eyes but I saw them. Flashes of those who mattered to me the most and the ones who sent me into space slipping away. It was a fleeting moment of hope until those warm hands held my face, clinging to me as they slowly fell back into the dark. Reaching out for my hands as they touched my very soul. “Would you rather lose yourself? Or lose sight of your goal?” I’ve got so many questions. Where am I?… Who… am I? And why am I falling through space? How am I stuck in my head? I couldn’t get the chance to ask before it vanished but by time it did I had already burned the desire into my heart and trapped the thoughts in my head. Even if it takes me a thousand years, I’ll keep their words with me as long as it takes. Until the moment I can ask them to their face… why? Why did you leave me alone with the stars. … Wouldn't it been better if we all went away? … Maybe the answers in the question but mines will only come with time. A time I do not have. A time that is the empty abundance that slowly but surely unravels the mind, revealing all of its secrets just before you reach the end of the line. One that even now as I drift through space is keeping track of every second I spend, forcing my eyes open under the crushing pressure of the immense heat building before me until I take my last breath. I know I could never predict it but I can't help but wonder if now is my time? Could this be my death? No it can’t be! I can’t go yet! Not now, not here, when I’ve already made up my mind to hold onto everything, to fight the best I can until the very end! I’ll do anything… everything! If it means I can find out why. But almost as if they we’re summoned by my will, by my desire to live, voices called out to me from the stars, filling the depths of The Nexus and the void of thoughts with a different path. "Nice energy but you can't be here kid! That guy’s nearby and take it from me, you don't want to be a star!" What do you mean by a star? "You need to gain control of your mind if you ever want to get down safe and remember, no dream is just a dream. There's always a lesson to be learned somewhere inside.” So these memories mean something more don't they? Are they trying to guide me? "That idiot's speaking of the mind and he's not even the type! Don’t listen to what he says!" Your not even listening to what I said! Can you guys hear me at all? "Yeah, don't listen to him! Train your body to it's peak then you'll really get far! I almost had him until he… well turned me into a star but I was close!” Wait seriously?! They can’t hear me at all! "Listen Star baby , if you get a timeless body that's when you'll really get far! You'll go further than any of us have been if you take your time. So don’t just train your body or your mind. Find your truth and take. Your. Time!" So you all got turned into stars but expect me to get past time?! You do all realize I’m stuck in space too? "I guess that’s true. You're already strong to be on your own right now swimming in a sea of stars but if you keep drifting like that you’ll burn out before you hit the ground. So we’ll help you control it this time.” Huh? How are you gonna do that? Aren’t you all stuck in place?
