[Contract complete] [Summoner Rank: Initiate Lv.20] [The condition for Rank increase have been met] [Summoner Rank: Novice Lv.1] Angelica had in fact completed her own Order. She had helped the Zenmoon sect, helped defeat all the Malignants, and had even now escaped the mines alive. By the book, her own Named Order was complete, and she’d been rewarded heftily for it, even advancing herself as a Summoner for all of her Demon’s incredible feats. But for how much longer would that fleeting life still exist? The agony from the fire that completely consumed the Imp trounced all pain that she’d ever felt up until this point, her very existence melting away. It was like she was dough that had been chucked into an oven and forgotten about, left to bake until she was burnt to a crisp. And she had no way to stop it. There was no more poisoned food to eat, and she desperately tried to extinguish the flames by using Frost Touch on her own skin, but it evaporated immediately, adding steam to further obscure her vision. In an act of desperation, she pulled up her status with Scrying Eye, wanting to see how fast this was killing her, if there was anything she could do to save herself. Except… huh? Her Health wasn’t decreasing at all. The pain was real, so very real, and the flames were eating away at her existence, but according to this, she was taking no damage at all. [Heat Resistance Lv.1] [Inferno Attunement unlocked] Gelic felt immediate relief, no longer on the edge of death, but damn, it was still torturous. [Heat Resistance Lv.8] The number had blitzed upward. [Inferno Attunement has improved from Aware to Touched] The heat had dialed back quite a bit, but she had not quite yet escaped the living nightmare. [Heat Resistance Lv.15] [Inferno Attunement has improved from Touched to Embraced] Oh that was so much better, but still something she wouldn’t be able to bear for a long period of time, like walking through the scorching desert. Thank goodness for her Hydration Rune, or she was pretty sure she would have collapsed from lack of liquids, now noticing how completely drenched her body was in sweat since it had stopped evaporating instantly. [Heat Resistance Lv.19] Apparently, that was all the help she was going to get for now since the levels stopped coming. It was still stuffy, suffocating even, Angelica desperately wishing she could turn down the thermostat on the space. But she no longer felt on the edge of death, and her senses were finally returning enough to see again, still difficult having to see through all the sweat, so she desperately wiped her face. Now she could tell what she’d been cradling fetally on the ground. It was a Summoning Circle made of what she suspected to be brimstone, one of more intricate design than she’d ever seen, far more complex than even her Self-Summon circle. Angelica peeled her face upward, to get a better grasp of her surroundings. The first thing her eyes laid on was a sign, one she couldn’t read, the script completely foreign to her, to the point that it further hurt her eyes just by observing it. [Tongues Lv.5] [Tongues has reached the maximum level] [Lucidity heftily increased] [Gnostic Attunement notably increased] Oh yes, Angelica could read the sign perfectly now, but the three simple words did not give her hope. “Welcome to Hell” To be continued…
