"In the case of the human body, mana circulates through 12 points via channels that run through the entire body. In the hands, feet, knees, hips, solar plexus, chest, and finally the head. As cultivation takes place, the circulation improves, initially through the speed at which it passes through the channels and, later, through the expansion of the pathways. This expansion is limited only by each individual's talent. The process must be carried out slowly and continuously, as an abrupt interruption causes a mana reflux that fatally attacks the body." "Basically, cultivating means absorbing the mana of the world into yourself? That must be what Michael was talking about. So it's as if I skipped the entire process? It's not so funny anymore. If interrupting it can cause fatal damage, only the gods know how I survived." Li smiled nervously. After some time reading, Li had already partially figured out how mana absorption worked among the four major races. Humans absorbed it through cultivation and transported it through the body via vital points. Elves, beings blessed by mana, could manipulate it at will, like a sixth sense built into their bodies. Dwarves were specialists in fortifying their own bodies and could use mana externally with ease, though they struggled with internal circulation. Demons, on the other hand, were beings made purely of magic; as such, they required no method at all, their talent defined solely by how pure the demonic blood running through their veins was. "It must be late already..." Looking at the clock, Li shouted. "THREE IN THE MORNING?!" Running toward the platform, he teleported away from there. As soon as he returned to the Plaza, he went to his room intending to sleep through what was left of the night, managing just over two hours of sleep. "WAKE UP, YOU LAZY BUM!" A feminine voice shattered the silence of the room. "YOU'RE LATE!" The woman threw Li out of bed. Startled and understanding nothing, Jihan got up. Amelie was staring him down. "How did you get into my room?!" Still dazed, he asked. "Easy; I asked for the key and a blond handed it to me. I forgot his name; something like Michel or Michael." Amelie laughed. "That bastard! I'm going to kill him someday." Picturing the man's smug expression, he cursed him. "Anyway, put these on and follow me; I'm going to show you the true meaning of pain!" Throwing shorts at his face, she went out the door. "She's insane," Jihan whispered. "I can hear you!" After putting on the shorts, Li noticed how tight they were. "What a strange thing to wear; what's the point of this?" Following her outside, he found Amelie. "They suit you well; let's go, it's already late," said the woman. Following her, Li noticed it was still dark. "Excuse me, ma'am..." "Miss!" "Yes, miss; can you tell me what time it is?" "The perfect time to make you sweat; it's 5:30 in the morning," Amelie replied. Jihan was taken aback, but Amelie had no intention of letting him go, dragging him into the gym. As he walked through the door, he saw Polnareff at the front desk, and while looking at the man, begged with his eyes to be saved, but received only a "prayers for you" gesture, as if the personal trainer was fully aware of the ordeal that was coming. Li swallowed hard. "Alright! Let's start with stretching. We don't want you getting hurt," Amelie said. After half an hour of exercises, the tension in Jihan's shoulders dissolved. "Maybe it won't be so bad after all." "Right, now that we've prepared your body, let's move on to today's schedule: back and legs!" "Why legs?" Li asked. His training included back work, but he generally didn't focus on his lower body. "You really think you're going to survive out there using only your fists? Keep dreaming, boy." "But you sai" "I know what I said, but you didn't understand. If you want to fight without any weapon, you're going to need to make your body its own weapon," Amelie explained. "So you're going to have to learn to use those legs." Jihan
