"SOLDIERS, HOLD THE LINE!" Bator shouted at the front. The goblin army advanced without fear or care for death. At the center of the battle, a massive monster fought hard against a warrior and an archer; the standoff was fragile, and with the advance of the smaller troops, the numerical disadvantage grew more and more evident. The exhausted soldiers were falling fast. "Don't waver, men!" a slightly older voice rang from the rear line. "Ispedes curtim us cias." Rotating the tip of his walking staff, a circle appeared in the middle of the battlefield. "Sengui parofique us curpas dissis humins!" The moment the incantation ended, the soldiers felt strength return to their bodies. They cheered; morale surged across the entire field. Tsk Xu clicked his tongue. His blood boiled, but he quickly composed himself and ordered: "Hey, Elf; slow down. We're not in a hurry." Wang said. "What are you saying? At this rate we'll wear him down in no time!" Bator pushed back. However, reading the message, Akemi simply nodded and fell in line as if it were natural. "As expected; she noticed too." Wang had seen it the moment they entered the field: the Goblin King was different; the sinister magic that had radiated from the monster was gone and only a common beast remained before them. Even so, it was still an extremely powerful creature by the current participants' standards; but nothing that experience and intelligence couldn't overcome. As they fought, Xu and Bator alternated holding the Goblin's attention; simultaneously, Akemi bombarded it with arrows. This cycle, repeated over time, wore it down little by little. "Xu must have noticed." Akemi thought. "But... I don't think we can draw conclusions just from the enemy changing... he must have another reason." Slowly the Goblin King weakened, until finally its legs gave out, the sword fell, and the body dropped to the ground. The moment the enemy's leader was defeated, the monster army fell into panic and began to scatter. Shouts of celebration came from the few soldiers left standing on the field. "We won!" the head guard declared among his men. "But at what cost..." he thought to himself, not daring to break the moment of relief the soldiers were sharing. Beldor walked over to Bator's side and gave his old friend a light pat on the back, smiling. Suddenly a small hatchet flew toward the old man's head, and at the same moment Bator's back exploded, hurling the captain clear. Bum The soldiers, not understanding what had just happened, stared at each other in shock; the more experienced ones ran toward the body on the ground. "Captain, are you alright?" one of them said. The man was still breathing, but his body was badly hurt. "A medic; we need a medic!" another soldier shouted. "Well, well; looks like I missed by a hair... even so, you chose to check on your captain rather than the man who is like a father to you... I must have raised you wrong." the old village leader declared. "Just as I thought..." Xu whispered. "It looks like I'll need to address that... Mintis freces, SUFFER!" At that moment all the soldiers were already looking in the direction that should have been Beldor. Suddenly dozens of men collapsed, hands to their heads, howling from the pain forced upon them. A red electrical sphere encircled the old man; his face was gradually consumed by the magic and a dark, horrifying visage took its place. Fangs lined the monster's new face, yellow eyes blazed, and its body rapidly deteriorated back to its original form: that of a humanoid Goblin. Before it could say anything more, an arrow flew toward it, but was destroyed by the sphere surrounding Beldor. "HAHAHA... and you two? What shall I do with you? But I am deeply curious; how did you figure it out?" Xu leapt toward the monster and, with his last axe, drove it into the electrical field with everything he had. "None of your business!" Wang shouted, a moment before being repelled and landing on his feet several meters away; his eyes bl
