CREAK The door opened with a creak and on the other side was a person who was a bit taller than Ling Xuan and age could be around 20 to 25, they were wearing a white robe that resembled a karate gi and had an embroidery stitched to the chest which was that of Lightning. “You should be the new Legacy Inheritor ?” The man asked gruffly. “Yes and who should you be?” Ling Xuan replied while trying to find any clues on his facial expression. “I am Long Chen, you are to follow me for the annual adjustment.” “Annual adjustment ?” Ling Xuan asked, confused. “You’ll know when we arrive, come follow me.” Long Chen commanded. “I don’t appreciate your arrogant gesture.” Ling Xuan spoke. “Hmph you dare to not follow your Senior ? You think just becau-” SNAP ! “Ahhhhhh !” Long Chen screamed in terror and pain as he felt his broken left hand. “Just because what?” Ling Xuan asked blandly. Long Chen seeing that Ling Xuan had no change in expression despite what had just occurred made Long Chen’s back drenched in sweat. “This boy just broke my arm and he doesn't even care ! Either he is a powerful idiot or just a very powerful person. Whatever the case, I'll have to make sure I don’t piss him off again !”Long Chen cursed himself for his arrogance. “Nothing Senior brother come let this Junior lead you to the way !” Long Chen quickly put on a humble appearance, after all no matter the case the person in front of him was still someone who easily broke his arm. “Alright, lead the way . ” Ling Xuan shrugged and began following Long Chen. —--------------------------------------------------- “Oh this is going to be interesting.” Ling Xuan thought as he looked onwards at the crowd ahead. “So this is the Newbie Execution Grounds?” Ling Xuan asked Long Chen. “Yes Senior.” Long Chen replied, surprisingly his arm had actually healed to an extent. “Those Cultivation Techniques are really something.” Ling Xuan mumbled as he walked to the crowd. During their walk to the Grounds Ling Xuan had forced Long Chen to spill some beans. Apparently every year when the new disciples arrive, the seniors would curb their arrogance by beating them up. “Those seniors are stroking their own arrogance by picking on people with a weaker Cultivation Technique.” Ling Xuan sighed as he understood the actual reason for the existence of such an event. “Those Elders or The Sect Master won’t do anything as those muscles heads only think that such an event will give the seniors self confidence against those hailing from the sects and also humble the new arrivals.” Ling Xuan snickered. Tossing the cubs directly into the mouth of the beast as soon as they were born was idiotic. Those muscle heads would stunt the growth of their own Sect yet nobody has a problem. “This Sect is only powerful Combat Prowess wise, I’m pretty sure that the only way that this Sect has not gone broke is due to its treaty with The Xia Family.” Ling Xuan shook his head. “Stop where you are Junior !” A voice called out to him and he turned to look, it was a man in their early 20s who was in the same uniform as Long Chen but the chest embroidery was that of a Qilin. “I’m Inner Disciple Dian Zhaoyun. Do you Legacy Inheritor Ling Xuan dare to fight me !” Dian Zhaoyun spoke magnanimously as if in a theatre play. CRACK Ling Xuan cracked his knuckles as he smiled and answered. “What about all of you?” “Hah you dare to refus- wait what ?” Dian Zhaoyun was already saying his memorised script when he realised what Ling Xuan said. WHOOSH Suddenly Dian Zhaoyun felt his body get lighter. “What is happening !” Dian Zhaoyun thought flabbergasted. BOOM Suddenly a fist struck his chest. SPLURT The fist was so powerful that Dian Zhaoyun’s blood was coughed out and Dian Zhaoyun himself was thrown back. BAM Dian Zhaoyun’s flight however was abruptly concluded when he crashed with other disciples causing all of them to fall down. Ling Xuan meanwhile just stared at the crowd blankly. “Is this the limit of you senior? I expected more
