And your very flesh shall be a great poem. -Walt Whitman Felix held his expression steady as his thoughts spiralled endlessly Have what? The pocket watch? His mind flicked back to the shadow by the window, angles, distance, timing. What could the man have seen? And just how much of it? He exhaled slowly, forcing the questions to settle instead of spiralling further. There was no point in guessing blindly. Observe first. Adjust later. His gaze shifted, settling on the man. By now, the dark blood flowing from the man's chest had already ceased flowing as his skin mended itself together; the slight hump on the back of his shoulders pulsed, and his eyes continuously twitched under the light. The beast-like man kicked Mr Langley, who was lying on the floor to the side, while muttering a cynical "Thank you" to him, seemingly amused at the present state Mr Langley was in. He looked back at Felix as he offered jokingly "Feel free to dig in …. he's still fresh" Felix's head again spun as he thought of a reasonable explanation for his odd behaviour. Was this man mad? The amused smile on the odd man's face quickly faded into hard dislike as he stared back at Felix, fingers twitching as his eyes darted around the room. The man closed his eyes again, muttering and whispering to himself as he jerked again and again. Felix decided against attacking him at the moment when he remembered the newspaper report of his strange recovery and physical strength; it was better to observe and take advantage of the situation than a risky uninformed attack. "Where is the Veyn dust?" The man twitched again, his voice even raspier than before, then he slowly continued spelling each word separately, "Do you know the kind of people you are offending by keeping my goods?" Felix's face twitched involuntarily, irritation flaring at the stranger's assumption. Of course, he knew that Veyn Dust wasn't some street myth, but to assume he would even keep something like that even if he had access to it. It was a dangerous Class A substance, refined only after Veyn crystals were ground down into an impossibly fine powder. It sold for absurd prices; even a tiny twenty-five milligram packet could fetch at least thirty pounds on the market. The crystals themselves were rare, extracted only from tightly controlled state mines, and the refining process was both dangerous and heavily restricted. Felix had heard the stories, of course, the claims that Veyn Dust could push a mind into something like godhood for a set period of time, but he dismissed them as exaggerated rubbish. The risks far outweighed any supposed reward. At best, users suffered severe mental degradation; at worst, death. Why did this man seem to think he was in possession of his goods ? He finally calmed down after he theorised that the weird, unpredictable behaviour displayed by the man was probably due to an addiction, a rich addict or rather an addicted dealer . As far as Felix knew, he could not afford such a ridiculously expensive addiction. Also, was this fellow an idiot? What kind of drug dealer dabbles and samples continuously in his product? How was he supposed to make any serious profit?. He had previously thought the man was talking about the pocket watch, which almost frightened him to death. Thankfully, he had kept his mouth shut in time, allowing the man to come to a different conclusion. The silence and a lack of reaction led to the strange man getting slightly annoyed with Felix. He paused his twitching as he suddenly nodded his head, chuckling as he asked, unsure "You're one of us, aren't you?" Felix paused at the question, looking at the foolish man. Why would I be an addict, sorry 'dealer' like you? However, he restrained his inner thought and avoided saying anything to avoid offending the unstable man, shooting him a look of genuine confusion. Noticing Felix's 'feigned' look of confusion, the man continued, proud of the astute prediction abilities that allowed him to see through Felix's '
