Chapter 33: Ravenous Madness Rachel tried to look around, but her vision was blurry and faded in and out. Blood streamed down her face as her vision continued to dim, but Rachel gripped her fist as tightly as she could as she thought, No, I cannot give up now. If I close my eyes, it's all over. I have to keep fighting. She tried to force herself up but was having a hard time standing as her bones creaked, and she could feel slight fractures running through them. Then she looked toward the hole in the wall where the Hero of Earth had just stepped through. He was in the process of pulling the shield from his claws as a metallic screeching sound echoed through the room. Finally, it came free. He tossed it aside, and it clattered against the rubble before he continued approaching her. Step by step, the ground cracked beneath him due to the gravity spell she had trapped him in. Rachel quickly looked around for anything she could use. What she noticed was that the room she had been knocked into was her father's treasury, where Elyndra had taken her before the battle even began. But it was hardly recognizable anymore, as much of the walls and ceiling had collapsed. She could barely tell what the room even was. Then the approaching footsteps stopped. Rachel panicked, grabbing for anything she could find. To her right was a hammer. She gritted her teeth and quickly forced herself up through all the pain as her bones cracked. Turning as quickly as she could, she swung the hammer she had grabbed right into the Hero of Earth's face. Her attack was instantly shut down. The moment she swung it at him, his hand blocked its path, connecting with the hammer's head as he squeezed down on it, stopping the weapon mid-swing. Then his other hand shot forward and grabbed her arm as tightly as he could. With his monstrous strength, he slammed her into the wall beside him. Rachel crashed through weapon racks as swords and other weapons went flying to the ground until her side slammed against the stone wall. A sickening crack echoed through the room as the fractured bone in her leg finally snapped. But it was not over yet. The Hero then swung her as hard as he could into the ground, causing it to crater beneath her as she spat up blood. And he did not stop. He continued violently swinging her, smashing her into anything and everything he could as the sounds of blood splattering and bones breaking filled the treasury. Rachel was helpless in his grasp, desperately trying to find a way to break free, but she couldn't. In the middle of the flurry of swings, she reached out for whatever she could. Finally, she found something within her grasp and gripped it tightly, holding it against her side until the flurry of swings stopped. The Hero of Earth held her up by her broken, dangling arm as he looked her in the eyes. "Looks like the fairy won't come for you. Maybe if I take you out to the courtyard and parade you around, she might come out from wherever she's hiding." Rachel barely holding on tightened her grip. With the last ounce of strength she had left, she took whatever blade she had in her hand and thrust it with all her might toward his face. The attack caught the Hero completely off guard. The dagger pierced into his eye penetrating deep. He screamed in pain as he dropped Rachel, causing her to hit the ground with a heavy thud as he stumbled back a step. Then, in anger, he kicked her in the chest, sending her rocketing across the destroyed treasury like a ragdoll and into the wall at the far end of the room. Rachel lay there bleeding out as bones pierced through her skin. Her body was completely broken. The Hero of Earth groaned in pain as he pulled the dagger free from his eye. Blood spurted from the ruined eye socket as he stumbled around the room. Then he tossed the dagger aside, and it clattered to the ground. "Damn woman, I'm going to rip you limb from limb!" At that moment, Rachel grinned. For the first time in the battle, she had managed to inf
