Chapter 17 Indomitable A week had passed, and Rachel had not seen Elyndra since the last time they spoke. Rachel asked the maids around if anybody had seen Elyndra, and one of the maids mentioned that right after Rachel locked herself in the room and caused that commotion, Elyndra had left the next day and had not returned. Rachel decided to just go back to her room and wait like Elyndra said, as she didn't know how long it would take for her to return. So she went back to her room and pulled out more magic books as she continued to study to pass the time. Then a month passed, and the only ones coming and going from the castle were Rina, Sophie, and the others as they went back and forth having important meetings, trying to get as many factions as they could to support them against the angels and the goddess. And once they left, Rachel was alone once again, and she did nothing but continue to study. Then, a few days later, there was a tap on her window. Rachel, who had passed out on her desk while reading a book, slowly opened her eyes before closing them again. But then another knock came from the window. And then another. And another. Eventually, Rachel opened her eyes and sat up as she wiped the drool from her mouth and looked toward the window, her eyes slowly clearing from the deep sleep she had been in. And there, fluttering outside the window, was Elyndra. Rachel hurried to the window, her face immediately lighting up as she unlocked it and flung it open. Elyndra flew in through the opening along with three other fairies. "You're finally back." Rachel smiled brightly before looking at the fairies behind Elyndra. "So who are they?" Elyndra smiled and flew to the side as she introduced them. "These are my friends. They helped me with the little project I was working on for you. This is Rafflesia, Drosera, and this is Venus. I brought them all the way here from the fairy village. That's why everything took so long. But with their help, everything is complete." Rachel spoke in a welcoming voice. "It's nice to meet you all. Thank you for helping. Must have been a long trip just to help me." Venus flew a bit forward before moving around behind Rachel. "Don't worry about it. We all owe Elyndra, so this was the least we could do to help." All three fairies buzzed through the air as they flew around Rachel and around the room. Elyndra then cleared her throat before speaking to Rachel. "Now for the finishing touches." Rachel had a confused look as she spoke. "Finishing touches? But didn't you just arrive with your friends? Because from what I've talked about with the maids, nobody has seen you coming in and out of the castle for the entire month." Elyndra gave a sly smile. "Well, let's just say I know this castle far better than everybody else. After Logan took this place over and used it as a secret hideout while the others were off doing other things, Logan and I explored this place, and there are a lot of secret and hidden rooms in this castle basement that nobody knows about except the two of us." Elyndra crossed her arms proudly as she floated in the air. "So I've been here the entire time in one of those rooms preparing it for you with my friends. I hope you enjoy my surprise because I'm sure it's one you will never forget." Elyndra then turned and called out. "Drosera, did you find a good spot for it?" Elyndra looked around but didn't see Drosera anywhere. Then they heard a muffled voice. "Yeah, this spot should be perfect." Even Rachel looked around the room but could not see Drosera anywhere until she noticed a magical glow shining from the gap behind her bookshelf. Then the magical glow faded. Then a few moments later, Drosera squeezed herself out from between the wall and the bookshelf as she brushed the dust off her body. "There. It's done." Rachel then curiously walked toward the wall as she pressed her face against it, trying to look behind the bookshelf, but she didn't see anything but darkness. "I don't see anythi
