Chapter 50: Blood and Deception Rachel stood there with her massive cursed blade in hand as the hero and his party closed in on her. All around them, angels stood with their weapons drawn, making sure she could not escape. Lazard spoke out. "All right... let's vanquish the Hero Slayer." As he pulled out his second blade, charging it with wind as well, he took his stance, then charged forward along with his entire party. Lazard dashed to the front, ahead of his entire party, as he swung his blade at her. "Wind Slash!" A giant compressed blade of wind shot forward toward Rachel. Rachel blocked it with her cursed blade as the pressure from the wind attack slightly pushed her back. Lazard then followed with his second weapon as it came slashing down upon her head, and another blade of wind burst forward. She dodged to the side as the pressurized wind shot past her and into the crowd of angels behind her. A few angels were sliced cleanly in half by his own attack. Rachel then spun with her massive sword in hand, ready to slash into Lazard, but then Grant charged forward from Lazard's side as he slammed both of his shields into Rachel's massive sword with all of his force and momentum, causing her blade to fling backward, almost flying from her hand. This left an opening as Wade dashed in from her now-exposed side while her sword was knocked into the air, with both his short swords held at his sides, ready to thrust forward and pierce her side. Rachel released her sword as she jumped back, barely avoiding the thrusting swords. But the moment she was out of danger, Kurt's spear flew in from the side as it pierced into her shoulder. Then, from the back line, mana burst into existence. Glowing in Serena's hand was an already prepared spell as she screamed, "Back away!" Grant, Wade, and Lazard jumped back, but Kurt was unlucky. As Serena launched her spell... "Rock Lance!" Over a dozen spike-shaped rocks burst forward at high speed from her hand toward Rachel. Rachel charged straight toward Kurt, allowing the spear embedded in her shoulder to pierce straight through to her back as she closed the distance, gripping Kurt by the neck. Kurt released his spear as he tried to pry Rachel's ironclad grip from his throat. Rachel swung him directly into the path of all the earth spikes. Using him as a shield, one by one, the spikes burst through Kurt's back as they protruded out his chest. Blood spewed from his mouth, and the fanatic look in his eyes turned lifeless. Rachel then smiled from beneath her helmet as she flung his lifeless corpse to the ground. Then Lazard screamed, "Kurt, no! You bitch!" Anger filled Lazard's face. "You will pay for this, you evil creature!" Rachel just looked at them as she smiled and held her hand out. Her cursed blade started to reappear in her hand. Only for a massive amount of blood to burst from her shoulder as a giant, high-speed icicle slammed into her arm that was summoning her sword. Her arm fell to the ground. Lazard then smiled. That arrogant tone came back. "Looks like you forgot about Katerina." He pointed back toward the wall where Katerina lay, charred and burned from Lyssara's lightning, heavily wounded, but it still wasn't enough to take her out of the battle. Rachel grabbed her severed shoulder as her bloody curse covered the wound that was pouring out blood. Then the wound stopped bleeding as Lazard stepped forward once more with cockiness in his voice. "You made a big mistake, Hero Slayer, by charging forward, thinking you could take this city. We are the chosen heroes of the Goddess Vayra. While you fight your wars and have grown strong, your growth was nothing compared to ours, and now you're no match for us." He charged forward once more as wind magic swirled around his twin swords. As he swung them, blades of wind shot toward Rachel. Rachel dashed to the side, dodging each blade as they passed by her, slicing into the angels behind her. She went for her sword lying on the ground beside her se
