Chapter 51: The Fallen Goddess In a highly decorated, extravagant room, lying on her side atop a soft bed, was the goddess Veyra. Through the eyes of one of her messengers, she watched the battle unfolding within the city. The moment the tide of the battle shifted and the demons began flooding into the streets, an angry look spread across her face. "Damn it..." she cursed. "Why can't things just go my way? Something must be done. I cannot let this continue any longer." She clenched her teeth in frustration. "It looks like I'm going to have to ask them for help." A moment later, the anger disappeared from her face as she slowly closed her eyes and focused. Moments later, her consciousness appeared within a vast, endless darkness, countless stars surrounding her in every direction as she floated silently through the void. But then space started to distort. The first figure to emerge from the rippling darkness was Myris, a breathtakingly beautiful woman with long, flowing platinum-blonde hair and warm golden eyes. A gentle smile rested upon her face, and her very presence seemed to radiate warmth and compassion. Another ripple spread through the stars as Thalion appeared. Towering over his siblings, the silver-haired god carried himself with quiet dignity, his piercing sapphire-blue eyes calm and unwavering. Soon after, Zorath stepped from the darkness. Long black hair framed his strikingly handsome face, while glowing violet eyes regarded the others with quiet confidence. An overwhelming presence surrounded him, befitting the god of Grathor. Moments later, Nysera emerged. Her flowing silver-white hair framed gentle emerald-green eyes, and her graceful beauty carried a peaceful serenity that made her seem as tranquil as nature itself. The final ripple spread across the endless void as Ortheon appeared. His long silver hair drifted weightlessly through the darkness as sharp crystalline-blue eyes calmly observed the gathering. His composed expression revealed the quiet confidence of one who always seemed deep in thought. Veyra looked around the gathering as each of her siblings arrived one after another. After a few moments, she noticed one of them was still missing. "I guess Deymor isn't going to show." Nysera spoke in a calm voice. "It's to be expected. It's not like he could help any of us even if he wanted to. His world is on the brink of collapse." Zorath then stepped forward. "So, sister... why did you call us here? What do you want this time?" "I have a problem that I need help with. I need each of you to lend me a portion of your prayer power." Thalion let out an irritated sigh. "And what exactly do you intend to do with it?" "I need enough power to descend and deal with a nuisance personally. If I don't stop her soon, she's going to destroy my prayer statue, and all of the prayer power that I have gained over the past few years that is stored within it will be lost." Ortheon folded his arms. "So... you want us to give up our own prayer power because you cannot deal with a single mortal yourself?" "Unfortunately, that is the case," Veyra admitted. "I have no other choice. If I lose that prayer statue, years of accumulated prayer power will disappear with it." Myris let out a soft laugh. "And why should we help you? You could have dealt with this problem long ago. Instead of torturing your hero, you should have simply killed him outright. You wasted all of that prayer power descending to the mortal realm just to make that hero regret defying you. You let your emotions control your actions, and because of that, you squandered a tremendous amount of the prayer power you had spent so long accumulating... all to destroy everything he held dear." Ortheon then spoke. "She's correct, dear sister. You need to learn to control your emotions better. I, for one, have my own Demon Lord to deal with and don't have the time to waste here any longer." Ortheon stepped back as his body faded away into the darkness. Zorath let out a sigh. "He
