"This might contain major spoilers for the story but is essential to understand the story too" Power System : The Ending Reader The power system is built around Narratives, Scripts, Echoes, and Synchronization. Unlike normal cultivation or mana systems, power in this world comes from how strongly someone can impose their story onto reality. The universe itself behaves like a broken manuscript trying to reach an ending. 1. Core Concept :"Reality Is A Story" In The Ending Reader, the world is secretly governed by a cosmic system called: The Narrative Engine A metaphysical system that observes: •Fate •Probability •Emotions •Endings •Human choices The Engine treats existence like interconnected stories. Every human has: •A Role •A Narrative Weight •An Ending Most people never awaken to this truth. But some individuals become capable of interacting with the "script" behind reality. These people are called: Script Users 2. Script Users Script Users manipulate fragments of reality through "Scripts." A Script is: •a command, •a symbolic authority, •or a rewritten law of reality. Example: "Burn" "Silence" "Collapse" "Forget" "Return" "Cut" The stronger the emotional/narrative meaning behind the Script, the stronger its power. 3. Script Categories There are 5 major Script types. I. Command Scripts The most common type. Directly command reality. Examples: Ignite flames Freeze movement Strengthen body Distort gravity Weak early. Very powerful later. Example Users Hunters, mercenaries, military elites. II. Concept Scripts Rare. Manipulate abstract concepts. Examples: Fear Memory Distance Time Regret These are terrifying because they bypass physical logic. Example A user of the Script: "Distance" could make an enemy infinitely far away even while standing beside them. III. Narrative Scripts Extremely rare. Manipulate "story structure." Can: alter probability, force coincidences, create inevitabilities, revive "unfinished outcomes." These users are called: Authors They are feared almost as much as Catastrophes. IV. Echo Scripts Created from Dead Scenes. Users absorb remnants of destroyed narratives. Allows: summoning Echoes, using abilities of dead beings, inheriting memories. Danger: Too many Echoes slowly erase your identity. V. Origin Scripts Legendary. Connected directly to the Narrative Engine. Only a handful exist. These powers can: overwrite timelines, erase existence, create paradoxes, restart narratives. Vael and Caelum possess incomplete Origin-level abilities. Lune's power evolved into one through repeated collapses. 4. Script Usage Mechanic Scripts are not activated by mana. They are activated through: emotional resonance, symbolic meaning, mental strength, narrative authority. This is why trauma matters heavily. People with: strong regrets, obsessions, convictions, grief, develop stronger Scripts. The world literally responds to emotionally meaningful people. 5. Cost of Using Scripts Every Script has a price. This keeps the system dark and dangerous. A. Nerve Damage Using Scripts overloads the nervous system. Symptoms: numb fingers, trembling hands, migraines, loss of sensation. This is why Vael wears: fingerless gloves They: reduce sensory feedback overload, stabilize damaged nerve pathways, prevent Script leakage. Advanced users develop: black veins, glowing fractures, nerve burns. B. Narrative Corruption Reality begins treating you less like a human and more like a "story." Symptoms: memory instability, personality fragmentation, timeline bleed, hearing alternate selves, emotional detachment. Caelum suffers this heavily. C. Echo Madness Absorbing too many Dead Scene remnants causes: identity loss, hallucinations, possession, emotional collapse. Many elite hunters become hollow people. 6. Power Rank System Rank 1 : Fragments Beginner users. Can barely use simple Scripts. Example: ignite sparks, reinforce fists, sharpen senses. Rank 2 :Readers Can perceive hidden narrative flow. Gain: danger instinct, Dead Scene compatibility,
