Chapter 337 - Descending Blade A note from Ellake Exhausted by her campaign at the South Pole, a triumphant Gwen returns to the world of warm food and living beings, ready for some rest and relaxation. Her timing proves fortuitous, for the greatest wedding of the century, that of Jun and Ayxin, the union between a goddess and a human, will soon take place in Shanghai. This time, not as a spectacle but as a guest, Gwen hopes to finally sit back and enjoy the surreal wonders of a wedding paid for by a top-tier nation that has spared no expense for its immortal Dragon bride. Frick walked across the deck of the Solaris with Frickle right behind him. Some people would call Frick crazy for creating real copies of himself with their own personalities. Some people would be right. Frickle was where Frick had stuffed all the order and pomp of being a true sailor, the perfect juxtaposition to Frick’s particular brand of Chaos. A small pillar of order in a sea of lunacy, which was particularly poignant as they were now floating on a sea instead of in the sky. “Damage report!” demanded Frick. Frickle glanced around, looking at the exact same things that Frick himself could see. The two halves of the Solaris were being held together, literally. Hundreds of Fricklings were using their bodies to hold together the two halves of the ship and, nearby, others were stirring a large pot full of screaming mini-Fricks to create more glue to bind the ship back together. It was utter Chaos, and it was working. “Ten more minutes for the first round of Frick-glue..." at this Frick growled. With a weary sigh, Firickle began again, "Ten more minutes for the first round of Fricklue to be fully applied, Captain Frick. We’re sea-worthy, but we won’t be sky-worthy for another hour. Shaman Frickate says the runes were perfectly severed but that Frick-glue makes for a poor conductor and only a temporary seal. We can stay afloat, but flying is out of the question.” Frick nodded along, pirate hat askew as he gazed at the painting in the sky. They were being pulled toward it, along with the ocean itself. Frick wasn’t good at recognising Concepts. He’d had Nate for that. But he did recognise what the painting was thanks to his time spent in Nate’s memories. That was a black hole, a gravity well, and whatever Nate was doing with it was pulling the water towards it for some reason. Which meant Frick didn’t want to be anywhere near it. “Set the sails. We make for land,” commanded Frick. Frickle was hesitant. “The nearest land appears to be where Lady Kiri is fighting, Captain.” Frick nodded, “I know. She’ll be done before we get there, and it’s safer than staying on the water.” Frickle saluted and stepped away barking orders at the Fricklings as the Undefeated Horde scrambled over the Solaris’s deck to carry out Frick’s will. Frick just wanted to make sure they were on the sandy beach before Nate finished whatever he was doing. A pulse from the painting rippled over the ocean in warning. Frick realised he had less time than he thought. “Frickle, send the Frickfins overboard. Tell them to start pulling. Now!” ************* Kiri was a blur as she traded blows with Remdyr, the Severing Patriarch. Even with all her speed and Divine Energy, she couldn’t keep up with the elf. He was a True Divine with a Class Core and all the Stats that came with it. On top of that, he had a Divine Vessel and Kiri was guessing it was maxed out. If he’d been into the Nascent Vessel stage, she would already be dead. Thankfully, he clearly didn’t know how to break through to the next stage, or had never acquired the necessary Nascent artifact to do so. Even with that small piece of luck, she was clearly in the hole by quite a bit on raw Stats. Thankfully, raw Stats weren’t the only thing that mattered to her. Sure, Remdyr had more Stats than her, making him faster, stronger, and perhaps even almost as durable as she was. But his strength was also his flaw. He had a Class Core. A Class Core that
