Kiri kicked off the desert in an explosion of sand as she avoided the rain of bones from Moiran circling above. Her Divine Energy flowed inside and out as she enhanced her physical capabilities while preventing the alteration of space around her. Her target, Vulix, the mantis-like Beast King, shifted in stuttering flashes of Skill-enhanced movement as it fought back against her assault. The Beast King was fast. With its Class Core enhanced Stats and Divine Energy it was keeping up with her for now. Kiri swung down with one of the blades on her Regalia, trying to activate the Concept of Severing within. Instead of ripping straight through Vulix the attack was deflected by a similar Concept that seemed to rip the attack apart before it landed. Kiri couldn’t tell what Concept had been used and, without Nate to ask, she wasn’t about to care what the answer was either. All she was focused on was carving a path through the Beast King and then killing its friend above. A bone spear laced with Death almost hit her as she danced with Vulix. At the last second, she stepped to the side, grabbed the yellowed husk of bone and redirected it at the mantis. The mantis matched her speed, avoiding the spear as it danced to the side on four legs before lashing out at her with its two razor sharp and thickened front legs. Kiri tried to step into the attack but again Vulix showed that it had speed to spare, launching to the side to avoid letting Kiri into its space. In the distance, Kiri could see how the fire in the sky continued to burn. Between her own battle and the flames in the distance, Prim, Grommir, and Camilla continued to hound Kiin’arngoth, the Living Hive. But, even from here, Kiri could see how Camilla was distracted. They weren’t going to win any time soon and she was a little worried that her brother might need her help. Which meant she couldn’t keep fighting for attrition. She dashed towards Vulix again and, when it went for its counterattack, she accepted the strikes. The claws clanged off her Regalia but the attack still rippled through her body, breaking bones and severing muscles. Vulix screeched its victory only to find Kiri still moving as though nothing had happened. She felt it as the mantis tried to rip a hole in space and escape. But this space, the space they were in, was Permanent. It didn’t change. It couldn’t be ripped, torn, or molded. It would Endure till the end of days. Or at least until Kiri ran out of Divine Energy. She smiled with blood on her lips as she crashed into the Beast King’s chest and toppled it into the sand. Bones of Death rained down on her back, necrotising her skin as she fought a war on two fronts. The first war was a bloody one as she eviscerated the mantis, ripping it apart with her Severing Blades of Destruction and ungodly empowered strength. The second war was one to remain alive as she fought back against the Death in the spears that tried to drag her under. The constant Enduring of a powerful Concept had her Divine Energy refilling at a prodigious rate. As she stood up, covered in green ichor and her own red blood, she locked eyes with Moiran, the Herald of Death. The baleful green eyes of the undead bird watched her with all the concern of a corpse. She was happy to oblige and make certain that the bird got its wish and became one in truth. As she prepared to teleport, releasing her hold on space around her, she felt something far more powerful appear. Before her eardrums broke from its scream, she witnessed the white hot fire of a phoenix descending with a white crown upon its head. ************* Luci flew on sparkling gold and white wings as she taunted the stupid ape and its pet cat. “Don’t you want to come up and get me?” she gloated, launching a beam of concentrated solar light from her maw at the King of Apes. In response, Jiro avoided the beam and rose on a hovering island of stone, with Poi the Bloodletter at his side. The silly cat was half crouched in shadow and Luci flew arou
