Inside the Keyway Office. The office was large and spacious, far larger than the White Crane Office. Rows of polished desks stretched beneath the high ceiling, each arranged with cold precision. Black folders were stacked neatly on the left side of every desk, while brass lamps stood on the right. Tall windows lined one wall, allowing a pale sheet of afternoon light to spill across the room. Staff members moved between the desks. Some carried documents, while others discussed matters in low voices. Unlike the White Crane Office, not every member here was an Aspect Holder. Most of the people working at Keyway were ordinary humans. Then the front door opened, and Marie stepped inside with Seo Jun right beside her. The movement in the office slowed briefly. Several staff members glanced toward them before returning to their normal pace. A few looked up from their desks. Soft whispers passed between nearby workers, but Marie paid them no attention. She walked straight to the front desk. The male receptionist immediately stood up and bowed his head. “Mrs. White Crane. Mr. Seo Jun. Welcome to the Keyway Office.” His voice was polite, yet there was a clear note of nervousness beneath it. “Are you here to meet Mr. Cleis?” Marie gave a small nod. “Yes. Is he available?” “He is currently in his office,” the receptionist replied quickly. “Please follow me. I will escort you-” “That won’t be necessary,” Marie said. “We can find our own way in.” The man nodded. “Of course. His office is down the hallway on the right.” “Thank you.” With that Marie moved past him without another word. Seo Jun followed beside her. The receptionist remained behind his desk, watching them go. He knew better than to interfere. Marie was not just any visitor. She was someone their boss personally knew. If she had come to Keyway in person and was asking for Cleis directly, then the matter she brought was not something ordinary staff could handle. It required the Key himself. Marie and Seo Jun walked deeper into the building. The hallway was quieter than the main office area, its walls lined with framed contracts, old request records, and sealed documents locked behind glass. They stopped before a wide wooden door. Before Marie could knock, the door opened from the inside. A short golden-haired boy stood there, one hand still resting on the handle. He wore a loose white shirt beneath a gray knitted vest, with a dark blue tie neatly knotted at his throat. His high-waisted black trousers fell in heavy folds from a strapped leather belt, giving him the refined air of a quiet academy student. Despite his youthful appearance, he was already an adult, but he was barely taller than Liesel. “Oh my,” he said with a smile, as if he had been expecting them. “I was wondering who was approaching my office. It turns out it’s you two.” His eyes shifted from Marie to Seo Jun. “Come in.” Marie inclined her head slightly. “Thank you, Mr. Key.” Cleis chuckled and stepped aside. “Call me by my real name. You make me sound older than I look.” Marie smiled faintly as she entered. “But you are, aren’t you?” Seo Jun followed her inside. Cleis closed the door behind them and walked back toward the wide oak desk at the center of the room. The office was impeccably neat. Shelves lined the walls, filled with carefully organized contracts, each file marked with a polished brass tag. A single key-shaped emblem hung prominently above the desk. Cleis climbed into his oversized chair and leaned back, resting one arm casually against the side. “So,” he said, his smile still in place, “what brings you to my office?” His gaze sharpened slightly. “I hope you didn’t take another ridiculous request from the Big Four. That would be a headache to deal with.” “Not this time, fortunately,” Marie replied. “But I do need your help with something else.” He sat forward. “Alright. What can I help you with?” “I want information on a man named Dmitri, the one with ties to the Undercity. You know who I’m talking ab
