Nathan finally emerged from the paper cocoon with Liang Shen’s help. “Thank you…” His eyes widened the moment he saw who had freed him. He had never expected the quiet hired Fixer to be the one saving him. He quickly deactivated his Aspect and stood up, scanning the corridor. Aside from the two of them, the hallway was empty. All the other guards were still trapped in their cocoons. Nathan turned back to Liang Shen. “How did you get out?” Liang Shen answered calmly, “During your fight, one of your metal feathers cut through my cocoon. That gap gave me a chance to escape.” Nathan nodded, seeming to understand what had happened. “Right. We should free the others first.” The two of them quickly went to work cutting the remaining team members out of their paper prisons. Once everyone was free, Nathan tried to check his walkie-talkie, which was lying on the ground, but it was completely broken. He let out a deep sigh, staring at the damaged device. “We should head back and regroup with the main team.” “No,” Liang Shen said firmly. Nathan turned to him, surprise showing on his face. Liang Shen continued, “You know there’s a high chance the White Crane has already reached the main team.” Nathan narrowed his eyes. “So what? Are you suggesting we abandon our responsibility?” Liang Shen shook his head. “What do you think will happen if she reaches them?” Nathan paused, thinking it through. If the White Crane faced the Steel Titan, a massive fight would break out. With their current strength, his small group would be useless. They would likely just get caught in the crossfire or blown away by the Steel Titan’s attacks. He scratched the back of his head in annoyance. “And I assume you have a plan?” Liang Shen nodded. Nathan crossed his arms. “Go on.” “First, we need to figure out the White Crane’s real objective,” Liang Shen said. “We both agree she’s here for Harvey himself, right?” That much was obvious. An attack this bold would only happen if the target was extremely valuable. Even normal guests of the casino would know that. Liang Shen continued, “With that in mind, I believe the person we fought wasn’t the real White Crane… but a paper clone of her.” Nathan looked puzzled. “Wait, a clone?!” Liang Shen nodded. “When I fought her in Harvey’s office, she used paper to disguise herself as a waitress of the casino. Then she changed her appearance right in front of me. Her body seemed to shift abnormally, as if she was made out of paper.” Nathan’s eyes widened. “So you’re saying she can create copies of herself using paper? But how is that possible?” “I believe it has to do with her Aspect,” Liang Shen replied. “You saw how strangely powerful and heavy her paper was during the fight. I think her Aspect is related to the Property Domain.” Nathan frowned, thinking back to the fight he had with her. “Property…? Then why does she only use paper? If she can change the properties of things, shouldn’t she be able to control everything?” Liang Shen shook his head. “Aspects are called ‘Aspects’ for a reason. They are only one part of a larger Domain. She probably can’t freely change the property of everything, only to a certain degree and only with things that fit her specialty.” Nathan nodded slowly. “So her control over paper comes from her Aspect over the Property Domain… specifically the property of paper?” Liang Shen stayed silent for a moment. “I believe there’s more to it than that, but I can’t confirm it yet.” He looked at Nathan. “During your fight with her, did anything strange happen? Did she show any ability outside of paper manipulation?” Nathan thought for a second. “Yes. Toward the end, she manifested a wooden cane and used it to neutralize my Aspect Weaponry.” Liang Shen noted that detail immediately. He had assumed her gloves were her Aspect Weaponry, but now she had a cane as well? That suggested he was missing something, but perhaps the answer was simpler than he had made it out to be. Nathan crossed his arms again. “So… you sai
