Back in the medical room, the doctor struggled on the floor, one hand gripping the edge of a cabinet as he tried to pull himself up. His leg buckled under him. “T-this is trespassing… y-you’ll be punished…” Liang Shen quickly scanned the medical room. The room itself was rather ordinary, but the medical machine caught his eye. “This must be what Liesel was talking about.” After confirming it, Liang Shen sighed as he turned his attention toward the doctor. “Doctor,” he said, stepping closer, slow and deliberate, “I don’t believe you are fully aware of the situation you are in.” He explained further. “I have enough evidence to put you in jail for a lifetime.” “What!” The doctor’s breath hitched. “No, this can’t be! I’m innocent. It wasn’t my fault!” His lips trembled as he spoke. Liang Shen stopped just a few inches away. “I’m afraid your friend begs to differ.” The memory of the delivery man flashed through the doctor’s mind as his breathing grew uneven. “I don’t know what that person told you! It is not true. I…” Liang Shen didn’t respond immediately. He just watched him. “Then explain the list that he had,” he said quietly. The doctor froze. “I… I don’t know what you’re talking about-” “Don’t play dumb, doctor. Everything you say is being recorded,” Liang Shen said, bringing up his phone. “So I suggest you choose your words carefully.” The doctor’s lips parted, but no sound came out. His eyes flickered, searching for an excuse, a way out, anything. “I… I was told to follow instructions… I didn’t have a choice…” His voice was weaker now. Less certain. Liang Shen stepped closer. “By whom?” The doctor’s breathing grew erratic. His fingers tightened against the cabinet, his knuckles turning white. “I… I can’t… you don’t understand…” His vision blurred. The room seemed to tilt, his body trembled, and strength drained from his limbs. His mouth trembled as he tried to form another word, but nothing came out. His body gave in before his mind did. His grip slipped, and just like that, he collapsed sideways, unconscious. Liang Shen looked down at the doctor’s body and sighed. “Well, so much for that…” The evidence he had over the doctor was, of course, a bluff. However, by the way the doctor had reacted, it might as well have been an admission of guilt. For a moment, Liang Shen considered leaving him there. Then, with mild annoyance, he bent down, lifted the doctor, and placed him onto a nearby bed. After that, he moved on to search for other things: drawers, cabinets, and shelves. Nothing seemed out of place. “There have to be records,” he thought to himself as he continued his search. He moved to the desk, this time more carefully. His fingers traced along the edges, pressing and testing. A faint click could be heard as a hidden compartment slid open slightly, just enough to reveal its presence. However, it was locked. Liang Shen sighed. He didn’t want to destroy school property due to the problems it would cause for the Office, but this one should be fine. Without hesitation, he tightened his grip and pulled. The wood cracked sharply under the force, the lock snapping with a dull break. Inside was a notebook. Liang Shen took it out and read it. The book contained the details of each student’s medical condition. Too much detail, in fact. His gaze shifted toward the machine. Something didn’t line up. “If that machine was used to check for Aspects… then where are the records for it?” He walked over to check the machine, but even the machine itself didn’t contain any information related to the students’ Aspects. He deduced that the doctor probably didn’t keep the records around, since schools didn’t have the right to check people’s Aspects. However, something bothered him. Shouldn’t the S.E.C.T. have caught on to this by now? After all, anything related to Aspects within the city strictly had to go through the S.E.C.T. Without their approval, the school couldn’t have been able to install this medical machine. Unless, of course, this mac
