Back at Sierra Middle School, Liang Shen and Liesel were about to step through the gate when a large man stopped them. It was the school guard. “Wait, you can’t come into the school with your kid dressed like that. We have a clear dress code for students!” The guard pointed his stick directly at Liesel. Liesel raised an eyebrow and looked at him. “Huh?” She looked annoyed, but she didn’t act out on it. It seemed that, for her, this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened. “Also, we don’t allow weapons to be brought into the school,” the guard added as he addressed Liang Shen. Liang Shen stepped forward calmly. “There is some misunderstanding. We aren’t here to bring kids to school. We are Fixers.” Just like that, Liang Shen pulled out his Fixer ID card and held it up. “A Fixer?” The guard took the card and examined it. His expression changed the moment he read the Office name. “The White Crane!? What are you people doing in a place like this?” “Well, about that…” Liang Shen began explaining their reason for coming to the middle school. With the reputation of the White Crane Office, showing the ID alone should have been enough to convince most people. Meanwhile, a short distance away, Marie stood holding the paper crane folded from one of Riley’s drawings. The little crane fluttered its wings a few times, then gently lifted off from her palm and floated upward into the air. “Hm, interesting…” Marie murmured as she watched the paper crane drift. She had never worked with anything that had this kind of property before. Just then, Liesel walked over. Noticing her approach, Marie turned to face her. “Hey, boss!” Liesel called out. “The guard said we can enter the school. He’ll also bring us to the principal. And, you know, I’m not exactly great at talking, and as for Liang Shen, well…” She glanced back at Liang Shen, who was standing completely still with his eyes closed while the guard looked in their direction. “…let’s just say he’s unwilling.” Marie nodded. “Is that so?” She began walking toward the guard, the paper crane floating quietly not far behind her. “Please lead the way.” The guard nodded and began leading the three of them inside the school. Once they entered, Liesel looked up at the white paper crane fluttering around Marie. She leaned closer to Liang Shen and whispered, “Hey, what the hell is that thing?” Liang Shen kept walking forward without looking at her. “What is the name of our Office again?” Liesel frowned. Her voice rose just a little louder. “I know that the paper crane was created from her Aspect. I’m not dumb.” Liang Shen nodded in acknowledgement as he continued calmly. “Congratulations. You have the answer to your question.” Even though Liang Shen’s face showed no emotion whatsoever, Liesel couldn’t help but feel like he was mocking her. “This damn guy… can’t he just work with me for once? If I already knew the answer, why the hell would I ask him?” she thought to herself, staring at him intensely. Liang Shen, of course, ignored her and kept his face straight. Once they walked past the schoolyard and were about to enter the school building, Marie stopped and turned back to talk to Liang Shen and Liesel. “Liang Shen, Liesel, I can talk to the principal alone, so for now, I need you two to do something.” Before Liesel could react, the paper crane flew down and landed gently on her cap. “Huh?” She reached up and took the paper crane into her hand. Marie continued. “This is a paper crane I created out of a drawing made by Riley. It has some rather interesting properties. I’m going to free it from my control, and I want you two to follow it and see where it leads you.” Liang Shen looked down briefly at the paper crane in Liesel’s hand before looking back at Marie. “Do you think it will lead us to the culprit?” Marie shook her head. “I don’t know. However, we miss all the shots we don’t take, right?” She turned back toward the school guard, who was waiting for her. “The success of this case dep
