Back at Sierra Middle School, the principal’s office felt tense. Marie had been sitting across from the headmaster for what felt like forever. The man looked nervous, like he was ready to melt into his chair at any moment. Marie, on the other hand, was quickly losing her patience. “Well… Miss Marie,” he stammered, fiddling with a pen, “do you have any other questions?” Marie stood up smoothly. “No. That’ll be all.” She gave him a polite smile. “Take care, Principal.” As she turned toward the door, the headmaster scrambled to his feet. “Oh, wait! Let me call the guard to escort you out.” Marie shook her head without even glancing back. “No need. I can find my own way out.” She stepped out of the office and let the door click shut behind her. The moment she was alone in the hallway, her polite expression dropped into something much closer to annoyance. “That was a complete waste of time.” The headmaster had dodged every single important question about the case, as if he had something to hide. His behavior seemed suspicious, to say the very least. Taking a deep breath, Marie headed down toward the schoolyard. There was something far more interesting waiting for her anyway. Just as she reached the open air, a small flock of delicate paper cranes drifted down from above, riding the wind like tiny white birds. “Oh?” Marie’s lips curved into a surprised smile. “Look at you lot… I didn’t think that thing would actually manage to use the power I gave it that well.” As the paper cranes fluttered closer, she raised her hand. In an instant, they unfolded midair with soft rustling sounds, transforming back into a single neat sheet of paper. One of the paper cranes landed right on top of her head, but Marie didn’t seem to notice. She held the completed list in her hand without needing to read it. The information flowed straight into her mind through her gloved hand. “I see…” she murmured, a spark of satisfaction in her eyes. “They actually did a pretty good job.” Marie then looked around. She didn’t see any trace of Liang Shen or Liesel, and most importantly, the main paper crane didn’t seem to have returned yet. Marie let out a small sigh. “Well… at least nothing too crazy has happened yet.” Knowing Liang Shen’s personality, she was fairly confident he wouldn’t cause her too much trouble. And as long as he was keeping an eye on Liesel, things should stay mostly under control. With that, Marie stepped out of the school gates. As expected, Seo Jun was already waiting beside the black car, leaning casually against the hood with a thick folder tucked under his arm. “Marie, you’re back,” he greeted, pushing off the car and walking over. She smiled softly and approached him. “I think I should be the one to ask that question,” she added. “How are you feeling?” “A little cramped, but I’m feeling better now,” he replied, handing her the folder. “So? What did I miss?” Marie felt relieved after hearing his words. After all, most people working in the Nexus Association knew Seo Jun wasn’t normal. It was good that he could remain calm even without her direct supervision. She shook her head and answered him. “Fortunately, nothing much.” She then took the folder from his hand with her gloved fingers. “Is that so?” Seo Jun replied with a nod. “By the way, about Liesel-” “I know,” Marie cut in smoothly, closing the folder and handing it back to him. “Did you order the extra information on her?” He tilted his head, looking genuinely surprised. “Hm? That’s funny… I was about to ask you the same thing.” “Sandra…” The name flashed through her mind. Marie let out a quiet sigh. “I’ll deal with that later,” she said, already pulling out her phone. “Right now, we need to find Liang Shen and Liesel.” She turned on the tracker. Liang Shen’s location popped up immediately. “…The S.E.C.T. station?” Her brows furrowed. Why on earth would he go there, of all places? If the S.E.C.T. got involved and took over the situation, their entire request could be canceled. Everyth
