Evan became the younger brother of a reincarnated Legendary Demon Hunter. If he had to transmigrate anywhere, he would have chosen the world of that story. Instead, he woke up on a post-apocalyptic Earth still recovering from a cataclysm that had nearly wiped out humanity. To make matters worse, he was stuck with a System that seemed determined to troll him at every opportunity. As if that weren't enough, he was cursed, which meant disaster had an uncanny habit of finding him wherever he went. Worst of all, his own brother might not even believe he was the real Evan. If Reid mistook him for a demon wearing his brother's face, Evan might be exorcised before he could explain himself. Can he survive in a world overrun by monsters, Rifts, and unknown horrors lurking beyond the stars?

"Sign the contract, Ava. Play the part of my perfect woman for six months, and I will wipe out your debt by morning. Refuse, and watch your father’s legacy burn." He is Ethan Alexander Blackwood, the cold, pragmatic "Ice King" CEO of a multi-billion-dollar empire who treats human connection as a dangerous liability. But when a calculated corporate scandal threatens to strip him of his crown, he needs an immediate public shield to protect his throne. She is Ava Grace Carter, a fiercely resilient event planner drowning under a mountain of predatory debt. She loathes everything Ethan’s elite world stands for. But with twenty-one days left before the bank seizes her late father's company, she is forced to sell her freedom to the devil in a tailored suit. The Rules of the Game Were Simple: Never look at each other with real emotion in public. Never ask about the secrets hiding in the dark. Never, under any circumstances, fall in love. But the moment Ava steps into his ultra-elite high society world under the fake arrangement, their transactional walls begin to crack. Deep family secrets reveal their matching fates were never an accident. Someone in the shadows wants them both dead, and the ultimate threat hides behind the faces they trust the most. As the contract lines blur into a dangerous obsession, Ava breaks her ultimate rule. But in a game where devastating betrayal lurks behind every close smile, trusting the Ice King might be the most lethal risk of all.

“It’s still her.” Three words. That was all it took for the carefully constructed world of my last five years to shatter into dust at my feet. Zane didn’t even have the decency to look away as he said it. For twenty years, I had been the third wheel. The reliable shadow to Jovienne’s brilliant sun. I had buried my own feelings for Zane so deep I almost forgot they existed, only daring to dig them up and confess them after Jovi had left the country and broken his heart. We built a life. A marriage. I truly believed, in my foolish, hopeful heart, that it was my happy ending. Now Jovienne was back, and the illusion was gone. The love of my life saw me only as a consolation prize. As my world collapses, the last person I expect comfort from is her husband—a man as cold and polished as he is powerful. Vance sees the same betrayal in my eyes that he sees in his wife's. Leaning in, his voice a dangerous whisper, he proposed the unthinkable: "They are living in the past. Let's be each other's revenge. What do you say, Nerissa?" I should avoid at all costs. It was a game that could burn our broken worlds to the ground. But as I looked into his eyes and saw the same raw, humiliating betrayal reflected back at me, the answer poised on my lips wasn't "no." It was a terrifying, thrilling question. “What,” I whispered, my voice steadier than I felt, “did you have in mind?”

Part 1, John's story. They call it Dream Light City. They call it a free city where everyone can be anything. But it's a broken dream. Controlled by the few. Only the rich benefit from the endless stream of broken dreams. No one is safe. No one will ever be safe. Corruption is our only reality here. I know. Because I'm a part of the upper game and I know the consequences if I don't comply to my role. Written in Power Break style: Dream Light City is a dystopian cyberpunk story written by Jens Richard in his unique Power Break style. It's a literary style that cuts to the chase, leaving no room for filler or fluff. The Power Break style embraces your imagination and leaves everything between the lines. For you to discover.

For generations, the River of Life has blessed the valley with crystal waters, flourishing forests, and a promise whispered through every spring festival. Hidden within its depths sleeps an ancient water dragon—the silent guardian who has watched over humanity since the beginning. When ten-year-old Sae and nine-year-old Rika are each saved by the mysterious dragon on opposite sides of the same river, their lives become bound by an invisible thread. Though they grow up worlds apart and never meet, both carry an unexplainable connection to the river, a strange blue necklace, and dreams that refuse to fade. Years later, as a massive dam threatens to silence the sacred waters forever, forgotten legends begin to awaken. The dragon's strength wanes, the river's voice grows faint, and two souls unknowingly destined for one another must uncover the truth hidden beneath the flowing current. In a story where nature remembers what people forget, The Destined Path of Water is a heartfelt fantasy about destiny, memory, sacrifice, and the bonds that transcend time. As the river's fate intertwines with their own, Sae and Rika must discover whether some promises can survive—even when every memory has been washed away. Two souls. One current. A destiny written by the river.

Arc Sandhurst will become a mech pilot, even if it kills him. After his sister's ship is attacked by the Pirate Queen of Nepenthe with all hands lost, Arc enters the Imperial Mech Academy on the deathworld Vidako in order to get revenge. The academy is the only place that the son of a silk-worker can get the enhancements that are required to pilot a mech - but first, Arc will have to survive disagreeable roommates, hazing from upperclassmen, the friendship of an imperial princess, and the steaming jungles of Vidako. Regardless of what Arc wants, the Imperium Stellarum will need every good pilot it can get - because empires are built on a foundation of blood, and the sins of the first emperors are about to come due. Lost fleets lurk on the edge of known space; the ruins of ancient races are spread across long-dead worlds; and enemies thought defeated gather their strength once again. War is coming to the Imperium. What to Expect: An intelligent but imperfect MC who progresses in capability and rank over the course of the series. Think the story arc of a Richard Sharpe, Horatio Hornblower, or Honor Harrington. MC will begin as a 4th class cadet and climb the ranks, gaining more autonomy and political power as the years pass. If you want to watch someone climb from cadet to admiral, this is the story for you. Progression elements include genetic modifications, cybernetic implants, humans paired with AI partners, and, of course, upgrading and customizing mechs through battlefield salvage and cutting edge tech. The mech bits are where you'll find the crunch - expect lots of models, variants, and weapon loadouts. Multiple POVs will offer a view of what supporting characters and antagonists are up to, but the focus (and majority of the chapters) will always remain on Arc. The first volume is roughly 80% MC, 20% other POVs, with most of those being the deuteragonist. Power Couple: All characters are over the age of 18, and begin in a military academy environment designed to produce officers. It is my intent to build a relationship into the power couple trope, but expect political foolery and arranged marriage complications along the way, and keep in mind that the characters have to navigate the rules of serving in the Imperial Fleet. HFY: Humanity, and the Imperium Stellarum, are at their core a force for good in the universe. They are flawed, but trying to do the right thing and are in many ways exceptional / aspirational. Four alien species have joined the Imperium because they want to be part of what humanity is building, and see its potential. Slow Burn with character development, politics, conspiracies, and secrets which lead to brutal action. I intend to do at least a volume for each of the four years at the academy, and then a volume each per rank. If things follow the plan I've sketched out, expect 13+ volumes. Inspirations include Battletech, Gundam, Dune, Babylon 5, and Twilight Imperium, among others. Content Warnings: Graphic Violence - This story will feature science fiction battles with mechs as a primary element. Expect people, animals, and places to be lit on fire with enormous flamethrowers, cut in half with plasma swords, crushed under enormous metal feet, and otherwise dismembered. Profanity - The characters in this story are actively serving combat personnel. They will swear. Sensitive Content - Soldiers get PTSD. Alcohol and drugs exist in the universe. Some of those in power abuse their position to traffic or take advantage of those without power. Bad guys do bad guy things. Update Schedule: Five chapters a week, M-F. Any vacations will be announced in advance. Cover by Sarah Murphy. Mech Art by Victor Yañez. There is no use of AI, in any way, in this work. I use em-dashes because I like them, particularly when trying to create dialogue that starts and stops in the way people actually talk. This story is posted on Royal Road, Novelpedia, and my Patreon. “Spread your legs for me until your husband wakes up.” I barely have time to breathe before I’m pressed against the office door. His fist tightens in my hair, and his other hand hikes my skirt up without hesitation, like this was always going to happen. His lips hover at my ear, his voice quiet and deadly. “Six months, Elena,” Damian murmurs, knuckles brushing the inside of my thigh. “For six months, my brother will get your name, and I get your body. Fair, isn’t it?” I should push him away. I should scream until someone hears me. I should be thinking about my husband lying in a hospital bed, machines breathing for him. Instead, my fingers clutch my husband’s brother’s shirt, and I hate that my body responds before my mouth can find the word no. Because in a world built on blood and betrayal, the only man who’s ever looked at me like I was more than a decoration is my husband’s much younger brother. I’m Elena Vitale, 38, wife of a powerful mafia boss now clinging to life in a coma and somehow, I'm the one left holding an empire I never wanted. And the only person ruthless enough to help me hold it together is Damian Vitale. At 26, he’s the black sheep of the family… an exiled hacker who built his own ruthless syndicate from nothing but resentment, genius, and an obsession with me that began when he was nineteen. Our deal is brutally simple. He’ll protect my husband’s empire. He’ll hunt the traitor who put a bullet in his brother’s chest. And in exchange, I’ll give the devil everything he’s craved for years. My body. My surrender. My soul… until the day my husband opens his eyes.

Jonas is weak, dying; his body ravaged by a micro-organism, created by his own half-brother Braph, that attacks the very essence of his powers of legendary strength and speed. Luckily, he's in love with a healer. But Llew's powers only go so far. She can't fix this. Llew still wants to free the Aenuks kept in Turhmos's cages, but she needs a full-strength Jonas by her side to do it. To save Jonas's life, they must reach the tree that shares a soul with their unborn child before Jonas becomes so weak he lacks the energy to breathe. But Braph is already there, keen to access the most power the world has known. * Note: This is currently in first draft form. I'm working on a newer draft, in between work & kids, etc.
